All RED Scarlet users will hit the big screen??

if 4k is coming and gonna take over than why pay so much now, why not wait till a better 4k cheaper raw format is available!

I would like a Scarlet for the RAW mostly. I don't care about 4k. 1080 is fine.

But the FS100 is more than good enough for me right now. 2012 is all about shooting, not camera lust. If at the end of the year I think I've gotten the best out of the FS100 then and only then will I start considering the Scarlet (or whatever else is around).

Regarding Red, I understand the OP's angst. I hate to paint a broad brush, but the online Red user community is populated with more than a few technophile koolaid-drinking snobs. It's a cultural thing. Check it out for yourselves. READ the posts. Post something skeptical, like, "I'm starting to have buyer's remorse because in the lag time between my December Scarlet order and the 4 jobs I've since completed renting an F3, I'm starting to re-evaluate my choice of purchase." I doubt you'll get a wrist-slapping for posting that. You'll probably just get banned outright. Those guys are such a fanboy, brand-loyal clique that it's almost kind of creepy.

Yes I find it hard to forgive RED for the way they act as a company sometimes (see Philip Bloom...) But the fact is that the cameras rock. I hope they mature as a company. They have some new guy overseeing production so hopefully that side of things will improve...

If anything you've got to love the build quality and modular design of the Scarlet. And the scarlet is beautiful... I know that doesn't really matter but Apple have shown that if you make things beautiful as well as functional then you can be onto a real winner.

Thank u and to all for hearing my distress, I should have a thicker skin, I know but it hurts when you choose a camera and are excited and ppl start teliing me that my work wont be taken seriously because of the camera I bought is prosumer not profesional =( thanks to all I just need to get it out of my system thanks for listening! I luv the FS100! and as for RED and their users I hope they become a little more humble....
Your camera is great. Sounds like you're smart in purchasing the gear you need, not necessarily the gear you want. If you have paying gigs that need the RED, Alexa, or whatever camera, then you buy that camera then. But until then, make the best of what you have, because it's much more than many could ever dream to have.

Yeah, 4k is coming. so is 8k and whatever resolution beyond that. Your 1080p will be fine and relevant for years to come. Forget about 4k, forget about what people are saying that you need to "futureproof" your camera. By the time 4k is really relevant, they'll be a whole new slew of 4k cameras out that do far more, more efficiently, with better features. for less money. Go make money now with what you have. What you've got is nothing to be ashamed about. If all your friends care about is the camera you have, you've got the wrong friends. (Same thing if they care about the car you drive). Worry about yourself, your abilities and go kick some @$$!

My interest to F65 was based on the fact, that it's the first Digital Movie camera with Rotary Shutter, and I like it ... long time ago, when I was 14 I shoot with 35mm Convas film camera and rotary shutter was only the option for all film cameras that days... :love4: so.. this part of F65 desing is really cool in my opinion.. you can see the curve of housing for it on F65 body in this pic:

...and was happy to meet Andy Shipsides there and say him "Thank you for all your wonderfull Picture Profiles for FS-100" :)

"Hurts" ?? How old are you, Ruben? :) ... How you can even think this way about filming?? Camera is only about 5%-10% of result, and the rest is sum of many peoples work : Scriptwriter, Director, DP, Gaffer, Actors, Artists, Set Designers, MakeUp Artists, Sound guys, Assistants, etc.. Look to that music video:

and than, see HOW they did it:

... I would better buy new extention to my Kessler Crane, or get Led Lights Set.. and learn more how to shoot better... then waste my money to get a Canon C-300 or Red Scarlet :Drogar-Happy(DBG):

Maybe you look just from the wrong position..

If they went to shoot feature for teatrical release, they put up some budget..and that budget should cover Scarlet cost also..

If I went for a theatre feature, I would rather film it with Scarlet than FS100 ( resolution, latitude ).. but for other TV and video work - FS100 is a overkill..
