Managed tp record about 10 seconds in 400Mbit mode on a SanDisk Extreme Pro 95MB/s. Didn't want to push it any further. Camera not very happy about playback, but it recorded. :2vrolijk_08:

Great!
For instance H.265 will provide a far superior result compared to H.264 and H.264 will be superior to ProRes
It seems you insist on comparing apples with oranges, compare some low bitrate H.264 with a high bitrate ProRes and then proclaim: see ProRes is superior! That's kind of my point, though. I think you're limiting the conversation when you're comparing bitrates. How does H.265 look at it's best available on that device. How does H.264 look at it's best available on that device. How does ProRes look at it's best available on that device.
ProRes in 4K will have massive bitrates compared to MPEG variants. But that's incidental. Does it look better than the MPEG variants is the question that needs answering.
Well, both H.264 and H.265 can compress all the way to lossless, so at its best it is lossless. That's kind of my point, though. Great!
Anyone know how to record 4992 x 3744 200 Mbps 4:4:4 10 bit?
This mode is not available in the 4:3 Anamorphic options and the 6K burst recording does not show 4:2:2 10 bit.
How do I record it?
According to this table from Panasonic it should be available (see item 6):According to the specs, there is no 4:2:2 10-bit option when recording 4992 x 3744 resolution (what Panasonic is calling High Resolution Anamorphic mode). It's just 4:2:0 10-bit at 200 Mbps (H.265) at this resolution. Which is basically the same recording format as in the 4:3 aspect ratio 6K Photo mode that existed before.
Only the lower resolution 3328 x 2496 is 4:2:2 10-bit in 400 Mbps All-Intra recording (I assume this is H.264 although it is not entirely clear from the specs).
I still cant lock (deactivate) the DISP. button. Anyone else also have this problem or know how to do it ?
Found it!Anyone know how to record 4992 x 3744 200 Mbps 4:4:4 10 bit?
According to this table from Panasonic it should be available (see item 6):
http://www.panasonic.com/global/consumer/lumix/gh5_firmware.html
4:2:0 10 bit seems consistent with the media info:That's interesting, the table on page 3 of this PDF from Panasonic looks very similar to the webpage, but lists the 4992 x 3744 modes as 10-bit 4:2:0:

I wonder which is correct?
You can't test All_Intra on YouTube because YouTube re-encodes everything long GOP, it would be like trying to test a color image on a black and white TV.Please post up links to All-I vs LGOP motion vids. The few I found on youtube (so far) were no bueno in terms of IQ improvements. Probably/hopefully just youtube killing the IQ. ???
