I was wondering if you could improve aliasing by:
1: Shooting less sharp, then
2: Take native footage and UPRES to 4k, 4:2:2 then
3: Do your edit, then
4: Bring back down to 1080p?
My thoughts are that the aliasing is caused by information that is missing from the
skipping lines on capture, so maybe it can be tricked by the upres, which artificially adds information between the lines, and then on the downres, it blends it back.
Has anyone tried something like this?
Since Cineform is going to allow 2k and 4k, and with Premiere CS5 being able to handle files without the need for rendering, if this works, that may be the way to go.
