Come on guys. Alexa is a respected member of this community who is presenting and accepting feedback on her top notch website, and you guys are bickering over NLEs again? Take it outside.

I think that was the point I was trying to make but in a maybe more lighthearted way. + i think Pto is just poking fun.

No, its an appropriate answer. I wanna see if anyone can guess. Please, does anyone have a clue?

And for the website, I think a designer would be the one to put in any updates. If the person had to get a designer, they were probably not very good with Flash.
 
isn't there a way to build a backend with flash so if she wants to add more vids, pages, change the photos she can do it herself? it would be a pain to have to pay someone to update your stuff all the time.
 
True, true. Probably is a way, but just made conveniently. Maybe any updates would be just text, and any flash links would remain untouched.

No guesses on the riddles yet? You need to watch CBC: The National more often. Oo-oo-oo, a hint.

The site is Flash. For simple updates, like the text pages, I don’t need to bother the designer. I can do the tweaking and upload the file on my own and cross my fingers I don’t screw anything up. It really helps to have worked on your own site before or just know some basics about web stuff. I have Dreamweaver, so its pretty easy, even though I don’t really do any kind of coding anymore. I made some feeble attempts at learning Flash and then just dropped it, I was constantly forgetting the actionscript and then realized I was going nowhere.

I think knowing some basics on file uploading, downloading definitely saves money for small changes. If I want to switch out videos ( let’s say I re-edit a video), I can also do that on my own and not wreck anything. ) Let’s say I want to add a category or something like that, then of course the designer should do it. I must say its kind of weird not having much control over it, but trust me, there is no way I could do anything like that and I’d just be wasting my time to learn. You do learn there are some things other people can do and they are just way better at it than you.

Initially I was going to have the designer work off of a template I found on the internet, to cut down on the work-time and save money, but then I realized I really didn’t like the template for what I was trying to do, so I just told him to work on his own. I’m sure he preferred that anyway.

Actually, I REALLY do dig the site. It's slick. No ideas... in fact, I really don't need anything. It was just a fun thing to figure out :) It's just cool you're back on here and stuff... I don't think you were around as much, when I started getting involved.

Well, I have your address and all, now so you do get something. I sent something to Toaster a while back, but I don’t think that will work for you.
