Alcohol+Girls+T2i+60i=The perfect combination

That made no sense at all, I had no idea what you were advertising, it was far too long for an advert, lots of the same type of shot, it looked like a boring party, don't act 'hiphop video' and throw money about when you've only got 12 dollars in your pocket. The list goes on, basically...

Yeah, I mean if you want constructive criticism, you put this out for review....

-Flat (or no) lighting, those white walls are a killer.

-This goes on way too long, I just fast forwarded through a great portion of it. It's supposed to be a promo/advertisement? If my attention span is short, how the hell is a 20 year old kid going to sit through this?

-The "closing credits" are a real snooze. If that's the play on words, I got it. But your concept is not working for me.

I'll give you this: The slo-mo shots where the cups are flipping do look good and play nicely on my monitor.

I'll happily admit I'm old and don't get where you're going with this. Agree to disagree.

As a side note to the comments about the length of this, you do know the average turn-off time of a video on Youtube is 23 seconds?

I appreciate your comments. I understand that you dont understand wats going on. but if you check the links to facebook you will see that almost 100 of my peers enjoyed it a lot. So what youre saying about attention span is irrelevant honestly. Its boring for you because you cant really identify it 1. because youre probably white and 2. because youre probably old.

Don't feel too bad. Avatar got more harshly criticized here.

Wow... I sure hope you have designated drivers, cause I didn't see any keys going in a bowl.

(note to self, don't drive around East Stonewell Street, Charlotte, NC Monday, 5/3 - Wednesday 5/5/2010.)

The idea of a pre-game eludes most people the remember $1.50 beers and 3 dollar mixed drinks. I do think this video by itself seems more like this is "the party". Other then the title it may need something more to relate, especially if anybody watching it does not already know what the "Closing Credits" event is all about.

The video is good but I recommend using some stylized color correction or effect to make it pop and feel more like one of your other videos. The "Thats Wazzup" video has that sharp/contrasty look. I am not saying that is the one you should use but something to make it seem more "better then life" would be good for the video.

Seriously this was one of the worst things i have seen put up on this site

If you havent already - Take a look at some of the other clips on here to see what storytelling is - and take notes from them.

No concept , no gag , self indulgently long - stereotyped / cliched
weak shots (why not make a 30 second short of the best stuff)

I would have liked to have seen an arc - everyone still looked sober at the end of the clip - maybe some outrageous drunken antics / set ups would have given the piece some punch

closing credits too were stereotyped and unnecessary.

this was a home video put up here as a piece of film making - i would expect to get slammed if i put this up- what were you thinking?

I know that all probably hurt to hear - but take note because even if your other work is good - this has the power to cheapen your brand.

Please go shoot something with a story and development - and put that up here instead.

Oooh harsh words from everyone. It's just a flat home video, the stuff you'd put on Facebook or a community where you can go "Har har, look at his drunken ass."

Although I'm surprised by the lack of shots not perving on boobs or badonkadonk. The money on the floor is quite silly, but fun I guess. But where's the guns, homie?

I admit, I'm guilty of doing that stuff too: http://vimeo.com/10783592

I appreciate all of you that contributed to this thread staying at the top of this board for way longer than it needs to be. Keep it up.

Not near as bad as some people think, in fact I didn't mind it. Kind of like 'gili'

I'm really surprised by the response here. No, it wasn't the best movie ever but again it's a fun little promotion for his school or something...there is more though in it than most of the test videos that get posted here and accepted. This guy is really getting slammed for this thing...

This guy is really getting slammed for this thing...

These days getting slammed is better that going unnoticed, It's working in his favor because people will be looking for him. He has the spotlight and that's not easy to get. Good move.

This forum confuses me - I'll have to agree with the points of him getting slammed. There really are only three types of posters from observation.

1. Those who enjoy talking tech specs until the sun comes up.
2. Those who offer no constructive criticism and only post to slam a video.
3. Those who post and say videos are the greatest thing in the world because they've been shot by their forum friends.

Seriously, some people offered some helpful advice here. I did the whole university thing and I understand a "pre-game", or we simply called it a "pre-drink". Art direction would have been cool...if it'd been something other than promoting a college party.

OP's mistake was to call it a commercial and that's what got everyone up in arms I think.

As for the actual video, well I personally think it could have been about 30, fast paced seconds to be made much more interesting - would have still maintained the message and accomplished it in less time.

Whatever - maybe I'm just bitter nothing I've posted has garnered this much attention, heh.

Kegan

SOOOOOOO long. I agree Kegan that it needs to be far shorter. Quicker cuts to make it feel like the party has energy. Right now there's no real pace at all.

Best shot or only shot that stands out to me is the final shot of the guy drunk next to the toilet.

To its defense this piece did not have much thought go behind it. The thought was composed in a day just so it would fit in our marketing schedule for our party on may 4th. For those that say it has to have story I really dont get what you are talking about. I see plently of videos about random stuff and people sitting in their house with their dog and their kids and people think its the greatest thing since the Bible. I know about art direction but when my target audience contains 18-22 yr olds who could care less about that Im not going to break my neck to go location scouting. As for the length one of the marketing plans is to give everyone in the video equal amounts of face time so they can get excited about being in the video and going to the party, in turn causing a chain reaction and getting everyone excited. I guess now I wouldnt expect some of you to understand but instead of attacking it because its different why not be open minded and say "Wow some people do things different than how I do it" If you have a facebook account check out all the positive feedback weve gotten here http://www.facebook.com/profile.php...&ref=profile#!/video/video.php?v=690291229047
