Thanks man i hope it looks at least decent and respectable. First time using this camera since i bought it. Just jumped ship from the A1 world.

I used a Brevis, as much as i wish it was a naked HMC.
My lighting setup in the auditorium was stage lights that we went up to the booth and i adjusted to my liking. And the story shots were two small 300 watt lights, plus natural lighting.

kool, I just got the blade back in July and have a couple of music videos lined up in October. one of them starts shooting Monday and im excited to use the the blade.

how do you like the hmc compared to the a1, which was actually one of my first choices when i was shopping around but then i found out about the hmc and fell in love with it.

so was this your first music video or was it just first with the hmc?

HMC hands down over the A1.
No argument.

my first music video was this with an A1- http://vimeo.com/3492069

also goodluck with your shoots man, do let us know and shows us stills or something too.

hi ryan,

video looks very cool! i cant say that i have much of a clue what the story line was though...haha, sorry!.

doesnt matter much to me because i still found the video very appealing. nice perspective of subject placement in the frame, like the stacking with drummer or others in the distant with the singer up close.

the band sounds good and fresh to me. cool song with nice ups and downs to edit to and i think you made good use of it.

the band has a chilled layed back attitude and i think it works good for them and... you did a great job with how you shot them to solidify that attitude. the band and your shooting style is all on the same page...very nice.

i like to see a drummer playing traditional grip instead of matched. not near as common these days. also nice to see a drummer not be an animal and lay it down in a cool way with a little attitude.

nice color grading also. seemed to fit nicely.

tripped me out when the dudes voice went high. if i closed my eyes i would have sworn it was a girl....haha! it worked though....plus it was very different. quirky but in a really good way...and fresh.

your doing great man! i remember your other video with the guys in the field (the matching "hair style" band as i recall) cool work on that as well.

i think youve got very good instincts. just keep doing what your doing. youve got a promising future IMO.

Great work! Can't say much more than that...sometimes no comments means it's well done.
:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Question: where did the band get it's name from?

Thanks man, i just feel sometimes when someone doesnt say anything it isnt any good then. I usually see many comments and praise on others threads but then i see no comments on mine and assume the worst ha. Paranoia i suppose.
I asked the band just now, and the singer quote un quote texted me-

"Looked at an Australian map. I don't like our name. It's dumb."

so there you have it. I like the name. I think it fits the band very very well IMO.

oh man i didnt see yours. I'm sorry.
Thank you Everts.
Unfortunately what was left of the story is what i have to settle for.
I would love to elaborate the story much more but unfortunately filming is done and the director called an official wrap and closure on this project. Also the band is very satisfied with it, so thats a plus.
i'm sorry i didnt see that...:/

Albany (the capital of New York) is 10 minutes up the road from me...so, I was just wondering. Thanks.

I like the song a lot. I'll tell you a couple small things that drew my eye (this is pretty nit picky).

The opening monologue with the "cop" sounded pretty amateurish. I didn't buy it b/c he didn't sound legitimately desperate or angry, but I liked the lighting and dof.

The first shot of the singer in profile was distracting because my eye was drawn to his acne or acne scars. Same with the girl in profile as she laid down out of frame- skin blemishes were distracting-just my opinion.

The drummers "getting into it" seemed a bit forced- his facial expression seemed like he was nervous and since he is in a lot of the shots it's pretty noticeable.

Overall I liked it a lot- great lighting and camera movement. It seemed professional overall.

nice, JD!
You were spot on with the main faults we ran into with the shoot.
The cop shot was actually (originally) acted with emotions, sadly we had to do ADR so the mono tone in his voice was a downfall.
Blemishes and acne on their faces was a distracting issue to us as well.
And Shaun,
Keanu Reeves was on set, but he was quite annoying so we left him out of the shoot. ;)
