AJA 4k recorder with C500

The Gemini will support it as well. I believe it's like a $2500 firmware add-on (to the Gemini) to get support for Canon Raw.

guess about record times with the C500... tried to go on the Canon site... no luck finding specs... I thought there was some at one time..

There is a lot of detail on the C300 and 1DC. Not much at all on the C500.

Therea re some white papers, and comparisons of the codecs and bit rates at different shooting settings for the codecs. You could possibly calculate the HDMI output from that.

Here is eerything related to the C500 (directly or indirectly. The sensor White Pages are interesting, but ...

Let us know what you figure out! Trying to educate myself as these get closer to release, although I am not working right now and cannot justify one. Hard to keep up without hands on.

Good luck!

Video bitrate calculator, set up with BMCC model I think:

http://web.forret.com/tools/video_fps.asp?width=2432&height=1366&fps=30&space=raw&depth=12

This is supposedly the bitrate for the BMCC RAW, 12 bit:

It is 1.2Gbps or 150MB/s.

The 1DC has bit rates by shooting mode & codec. I'll try to paste:

http://learn.usa.canon.com/resource..._4k_cinema_camera.shtml?categoryId=22#showAll

Bit Rates, by shooting mode (approximate):

Finally, there is a Canon Log Gamma White Paper that talks about the C300 & C500 internal 50Mbs data rate, and the output data with Log applied as 10 bits, but no definitive info on data rates.
