Love my Panasonic cams. But workflow in the field (I am filming buffalo in Mozambique this June) is a PIA! Caryying a laptop for use over 8 days without electricity is not an option.
So a few years ago I bought a AJ-PCS060G and it worked well with my 8gb cards. But it sure became obsolete with the larger card sizes I now own and use. I find it stunning that they still sell the same 60gb unit for over a K when I can buy a Terabyte drive for about 120.00.
So now that I have this 60gb thing trying to back up 64gb cards (read useless) is it possible to dismantle it and replace the hard drive inside with something that is even remotely useful for workflow in 2009? Heck, even if it's experimental I'd give it a shot since the unit I own is no longer viable unless i'm shooting my small cards.
Thanks!
