AIF Sound Effects

Hi guys, been using fcp for a while now, and really am getting into it. Only problem is I want to start a collection of sound fx preferably in AIF format but I am taken back by the plethora out there on the web. Does anyone know any good bundles I can buy which will over a variety of sounds for use for films, mixture of background sounds, voice and other sound fx bundles? I want to spend up to £190 just to give me a start with my library as at the moment I have nothing. I dont want to sift through countless of pages picking sounds one by one :undecided

What about the huge library you already have in SoundTrack Pro? That's a good start. Otherwise I like Sound Dogs and the Hollywood Edge.

what I usually do is look through sound track pro, find the name of something I like, than spotlight the name (apple-space), hold down the apple key and click the file you want, that will than reveal it in finder and drag it into Final Cut

You'll only have that library if you did a complete install of Final Cut Studio with all options.

As luck would have it I stumbled onto this thread whilst about to post about sound effects and like our friend above had no idea there was a sound library in soundtrack pro.

There are samples there I require, but I don't really follow what you are saying about dragging it into FCP.

How do you get it out of there again? :undecided

Have you done the spotlight search? Lets say you have a sounds effect and in Soundtrack Pro it's labelled, "Door Closing 2". There is a little magnifying glass in the upper right hand corner (it can also be triggered by hitting the space bar and the apple key at the same time) Type in the exact label of the sound effect so you would type "Door Closing 2". You will see the title pop up in the list, than while holding the apple key click the title. That should than open up a finder window containing the file. You can than drag that file into a bin in final cut, should be easy as that. Let me know if that solved the problem for you.
