"On The Lot" tonight

They'll show the films tonight, you'll vote after the show. Then next week at the beginning they'll, presumably, kick off the bad one and then show the new films. And so on, and so on.

According to my channel guide, the shorts they are showing tonight are the shorts that the submitted in the beginning. So now they are not even making new films they are just being voted off on films they submitted to enter.

This show really has no direction. What a shame, it could have been great if they did not try to copy the American Idol formula.

What?

Create a new tv show that doesn't slavishly follow the formula of a previously-successful tv show?!

Does not compute.

*shudder*

*thud*

I think i've been watching for 2 weeks. Why does it seem that the film students always do worse in practical applicaton?

I like the guy that couldn't even follow directions. Assignment: MAKE A ONE MINUTE COMEDIC SHORT.

He turns in a trailer. WHY? WHY PEOPLE?

Hey, I'm satisfied watching a flipbook of some doofus getting hit in the balls...

I wanna see a flipbook of a guy watching a flipbook of a guy on YouTube getting hit in the balls.

Maybe they can make a contest out of that.

I think when you nest flipbooks inside each other, you get strobing problems...

I suspect that's the difference, between a student and a professional - 50% is just showing up, and another 25% is just following directions...

these were the shorts that got them on the show??????? okay so i see they were probably looking for comedy directors.

michael mann was the most honest of the judges tonight. i'm glad all the judges didnt just play follow the leader after carrie made her comments.

i hate how they are doing this show...switching nights, only showing 5 out of the 15 contestants? man, we're going to be in August still waiting for them to come back from a commercial just so they can take us to another commercial and finally eliminate somebody.

i feel sorry for the girl with the glasses that made the short about the rude family. she's treading on water.

It was Michael Bay that was the judge. He had this attitude like "WTF did I bother showing up for, you people suck" and I have to say that, sadly, has been the most entertaining aspect of this show so far. I mean, enough with the cheary, happy, feel-good stories. How about some drama to mix it up some.

Flatlining

Flatlining

I don't think I can make it thru the summer, I'm gonna have to bail soon on this one.

Is it just my TV, or is the audio absolutely piss-poor? I can barely hear that dizzy hostess, and when people start applauding, forget about it. She's got shaky delivery plus the personality of a dead moth.

And the orchestral theme song that they play ad-naseum? Miserable. As much as I despise American Idol, it really makes me appreciate the production values that go into a program to make it watchable.

Paging Dr. Fujiyama, looks like we got another corpse.

oops, i meant michael bay. guess i subconciously would have rather seen michael mann up htere instead, lol.

i agre with you deepfocus. i thought the hostess was hot and that would be enough at first but now she's starting to flirt with that one dude for the second time on the show calling him the resident cutie, lol. maybe she should "Ghetta Room." :)

Did you catch chick that did the "How many ____ does it take to screw in a light bulb" bit?

NYU Film student. Even Garry Marshall didn't like it. Dude came up with Lenny and Squiggy.

HAHA yep... gosh... even from viewing some of these spyfest films... 5-10 of the filmmakers are better than these people.

this has been a disaster from the start. they never established the format of the
show. one episode is like the apprentice, next is like american idol, now we just watch 5 films in an hour. the films didn't even have a common theme, they were completely random. being as they've split into groups of five, we have to wait three weeks to see the people we saw tonight.

i can't believe how bad the producers have botched this thing.

Ill be honest...I missed tonights episode..and I'm not sad at all...

I missed it to go to a friends house to work on an English project where we're making a trailer from a book we had to read.

The show is really boring...i duno if anyone feels the same way..but I think it was all hyped up and now people just want it to end. I kinda feel that way...
