Ag-hpx170

[JPUSC]

Hey. Thanks for the responses from my other thread about the HVX200A. I'm also thinking about waiting until the Fall when the new AG-HPX170 comes out.

Anyone have any info on it? A google search comes up with little information. Is it the successor to the HVX200A? I'm wondering if there are big differences between the two.

I have a film shoot in mid-September, so I hope they would have released it by then.

Thanks!

and its supposed to be mid/late september. it is not the successor the hvx, just a different camera.

The issue is the release date of the HPX170 and availability.

Panasonic is indicating mid September. However, the release of the HVX200 a couple years ago was not in great numbers for about four to six months.

Hopefully, it will be different this time.

I too hope that the roll out will be in larger numbers since it's not the groundbreaking new direction that the HVX was. Man, after reading Barry's article.. I can't wait to check it out. I'm thinking the smaller cam might become the main cam. I just hope it comes with a free 32 gig card. Now that, would be another great reason to pick one up.
