aftermarket batts with c300

Lenmar LIC970G works, but is big, so you can't close the battery door. Also, in the event of battery leakage, though unlikely, canon will not provide a warranty repair on camera. As a side note, turn the camera off when taking lenses on and off. A piece of zeiss ze glass caused one camera to need to be shipped for repair. Dont know if it w under warranty or not...

I've had no problem using my battery from my XF100 - they both use the same BP955 battery. My old XH-A1 batteries work as well (BP950). But these are all Canon OEM. I've tried my Lenmar high-capacity battery, and it works too, but I haven't done a significant amount of shooting with that battery installed.

I've heard that Wasabi batteries are good, but I've never used them, and I'm with Philip - I don't think it's worth the risk on the C300. Just a couple of extra BP955's will have you set for any shooting day, no reason to skimp.

hey guys what about that battery Canon BP-975 , is it going to fit behind the dour ? also would u recommend it or its too heavy? and also how much canon c300 eat wh?

I use intelligent batteries with the chip to measure remaining juice, that means Canon. On expensive cameras will use Canon to protect warranty. I was just answering why some people buy inexpensive after market batteries.

I fall into the camp of always buying OEM batteries if they're chipped.

Are aftermarket C300 batteries chipped? If not is there a risk the camera will suddenly shut down when they're exhausted, possibly corrupting the clip being recorded?

You bought a $15,000 camera and can't afford the $160 canon charges for batteries?

Because some people erroneously equate "being just barely able to afford" with "being able to afford". The C300 costs more than just the price of the body alone.

I only use Lenmark 3rd party batteries, and only for my HPX-170 (where they have worked perfectly) and 2 LP-E6 models for my SmallHD DP6 (where if they go out, it's not like footage will be lost or anything).

guys can some one confirm that Canon BP-975 will fits c300?
It fits but it's too large so sticks out the back with the battery door open. It's better to remove the battery door so that it doesn't get damaged. I have a BP-975 & it is slightly better value in terms of battery capacity but I would not buy any others as the BP-955 fits & allows the door to be shut.

i bought Zoom battery at my dealer, 50$ for 970G - works fine no issues at all! its big u cant close the dour , but its same with canon 970g original one. So really see no reasons why not use them...

I bought a BP-975 for the C100 and because of the size and weight I think I should have bought x 2 BP-955s instead (though $100 more). The 955s last a long time. I'll still use the BP-975 but probably only when the camera is on a tripod for long running events.
