Poor cinemaphotography, looks like a TV-scetch (like saturday night live). You're telling very little through the images, and that could work if the acting was good. Wich is isn't. Of course impressive with all the props and vehicles but that is like the fine layer of crisp you should have as a bonus on top of a good movie...
Hopefully you can do some re-shots of parts like the campfire scene... maybe sacrifice the worst parts when you wrap it up, in all seriousness, the audience rather watch scattered footage that is barable rather that sit through a scene like the campfire one... it is unbearably bad. Hard criticism yes, but people will judge you by the movie, NOT by your effort! That's the sad truth we filmmakers have to cope with, and with these DSLR cameras shooting hollywood-looking videos the audience sure isn't gonna get less judging... none of your efforts should be aimed at 15 min of fame on vimeo, but still interesting to watch in twenty years because you told a good STORY.
Thanks for the input, this is nothing I haven't thought about it myself honestly.
There are A LOT of things I don't like about it, and A LOT of factors why it's the way it is. It's really hard to motivate 20+ people who are unpaid to come out and donate enough time to REALLY get what you want, know what I mean? I definitely want to redo this and tell a better story - I actually have a much better one.
Biggest fault with this was being rushed and not having a developed enough story to go with, etc.
Thanks for the harsh criticism, honestly. It's what will make me better, and I honestly take it as a high compliment that you took the time to tell me what sucked about it because now I will be conscious about it in the future.
Now, that's not an open invitation for down right rude comments from people, but positive constructive criticism is always good.
I actually don't want to use any of this at all anymore, I have a much much better film / storyline in mind to do.
