A little of this and a little of this other thing and there it was...
After Life (two words) wound up looking more like the trailer for a feature length than a complete film. The cast and crew have seen the finished version, only fair for all the work they put into it. It has been critically well received and I am actually pretty happy about it.
All together we had...
4 camera operators
1 stunt double
5 locations
10 or so actors
1 ambulance
1 fire truck
1 wrecked car
every piece of equipment is real and most of the cast are working firefighters and EMS personell.
Did we get everything I wanted to get? No. Had we, the film would have been about 10 minutes long minimum.
Am I anxious to get started on my next projects? Oh yeah baby!!!

Brandon, we still haven't been able to get logged on. So as soon as I get the address the cd goes in the mail.
Cynic, sorry, it's related to the post on the Horrorfest main page and is kinda rambling. Specific questions will be answered.
I'm not certain how detailed to make the openning post. Don't wnat to give anything away either.

hey guys, it's finally up. After a week of trying to track down the lost files Larry just had me re-upload. Sorry about the quality of the file. I don't know what happened to it.
 
WATCH THIS MOVIE! Some of the shots were great! Cool story too. How did you get all that EMT equipment for the shoot??? Ambulances, Firetrucks? Anyway, this film deserves a watch.

The mpeg 4 doesn't show the true picture quality. Those who have seen the mpeg 2 remark on how filmlike the picture is. I let someone else do the compression and forgot to double check it.
To answer your question,
I am a medic and the company I work for supplied the box and the gear. All but the lead actor are working EMS personell. The fire truck was supplied along with the firefighters by a volunteer service.
Thanks for the compliments. My lighting guy is a genius. I was the one actually riding the bike. (my girlfriend shot the scene. 1st time behind the camera and free handed it.) The car is the lead actor's and we jumped all over it when he showed up as we didn't really have a good car for the scene.

Bonus question. I'll send the first person who figures out how we messed up our actresses face for the bedroom scene a dvd with the deleted scenes and production stills.
 
Wait a minute!!! Where is this movie??? I saw it posted once and when I went back to the mirror site, it was gone.

On Larry's Server, but for some reason When I try to go there, it is asking for a password??? That is where I got it from!
 
This is rediculous!?!?!?! All I wanted was for some people to see my little story and.... Guys, I don't know what the deal is. It was on Larry's list and now the password thing?
Matt, one other thing. I wrote the film at work. So one night I'm working on it for hours and we got a call to a hanging. I walk in and the room is all dark and this poor soul is hanging in the middle of the room. Flashlights are playing over him and I have to go make certain there is nothing we can do for him. In all my years of working in EMS I have never been afraid of a body or my job, but on this particular night, I got a little creeped out.

After that script! I would have been too creeped out to go near him! That is freaky!!! I hope this works out for you and you get people to be able to watch this. I am sure a ton of people will like it, it is just tweaking the little things to get it to work. PM Larry, I am sure he will help as quickly as he can as he is a good guy. I would also contact Brandon Rice and see if he will host it for ya. Good luck!

Future user, I really do want to see your film (I have been taking pride in the fact that I have watched every entry).


I did see your film (I believe) on a list, which made me say "oh! there it is" But when I went back to download it, I couldn't find it.

The mirrors I've been using have been #2 until it ran out ouf bandwidth and mikko's mirror. I will continue to look, but if you find it, PLEASE pm me so I know. I very much I want to see everyone's work!

Ted , I have the film, downloaded it 2 days ago , saw it and it rocks. I dont know if its for the contest though, wasnt in the ballot. The film is great! Will comment further tomorrow, I ll be staying at my brother's place tonight.

IF you cant find the film today, I promise I ll upload it in our c2tc server tomorrow.

Awesome John, That would be great.

Whether it is up for contest or not doesn't sway my decision to watch it. I just like seeing other peoples work and perhaps having a diescussion with them about their work!
