Hi,
I have some aerial footage that I shot using DVX100A (24p advanced).
I captured the footage using Adobe Premiere 1.5 and scene detect.
However there is a lot of camera shake in the footage (windy day). So I wanted to pull this footage into Adobe After Effects and motion-stabilze the footage before using it.
AE however interprets the footage as 29.97 frames per sec (from the file). Should I force the frame rate to be 23.976?
I searched for after effects on this forum but couldn't get any useful results.
Also, this footage really lacks in clarity. The crispness and details are sort of lost. Could it be because I shot in 24p? Or is it a technical limitation of the dv format. The green landscape sort of blends together and you can't see the detail in it.
Or could it be related to the focus? I had set the camera on manual focus and used the infinity focus control to set the focus. While discussing this problem with a friend who does aerial still photography, he mentioned that the focus shouldn't be set on infinity, but a bit short of infinity focus. Does that make sense? BTW, I was shooting through a reasonably clear plastic glass window of the Cessna. And though it was a bit hazy, stills captured by a fellow passenger were really clear.
Any tips, suggestions? Can I post process the footage to gain back the clarity a bit?
Thanks in advance
