Affordable Wireless HD transmission from Brite-View AirSyncHD

Okay all.... I tried my Brite-View today via my two Tekkeon Batteries and worked really well. Just had to make sure I had the right adapter tip on the end and viola... Worked the first time. Seems to transmit more consistantly over the wide setting but so far was a great option..

If people want pictures I'll take some later but really what I did was mount a glidecam cheesplate to the top of the camera then I put the briteview on the bottom and the tekkeon battery on top. I used a 1' HDMI cable to go from the camera to the trasmitter and then a 5' cable to feed my Sony Monitor... And on the receiver I had a similar configuration but I fed the output to my LG TV....

overall the signal held up pretty good even through some walls. I think for 250 bucks it's a great purchase. I primarily got this for my steadicam work but if it proves to be really reliable then I might use it on all of my shoots just to get out of having to string cables everywhere....

Great cheap solution so far.... cheers.

Guys

I've had my Brightview working for several months flawlessly. I can post some pictures in a week or two but basically what I'm using is a 12v battery on the receiver and a idx V-mount plate with a regulated 12v power output on the camera with a couple of these:

I tried several solutions and this is the only thing I could get to work. But it does work very nicely. The key is that the adapters on ebay are rated for 3.5 amps.

Just thought I'd share.

Would those adaptors work with a normal 12v LP-E6 plate? Would they power the brite-view without problems?

A picture would be great!

How much did you pay for the Tekkeon batteries? I'm guessing I would need 4 to power 2 brite-views (for 2 Canon 7Ds) to shoot all day.
Would it last all day? How many hours are we talking about?
It's not that cheap considering the price of LP-E6 batteries, is it? But since jag35 discontinued their 5v regulated plate, there's no other solution in that price range. :undecided

Any news on a power supply for the AirSync HD?

Is Dan Kanes still making the LP-E6 plates? I can't seem to reach him by email.

I bought 2 units in May or something and still haven't been able to power them.... =/

Help?

I have two tekkeon batteries. Powers them just fine... There's a ton of options out there for these....

Could you tell me what model you're using? Also, what's the power output they give? 5v 3A? Is this really required or is it more "in the ball park"?

I believe they are two different models. They are both set to 5 Volts I believe. I don't have the kit with me right now but I'll check when I pick it up.

Can a single transmitter drive multiple receivers? It seems to say the transmitter and receiver "pair". The Teradek Cube is WIFI so any number of receivers is possible, but of course, the price is significantly higher.

As is the compression :)

two units?

two units?

Can you use two AirSyncs at the same time? Can you have two cameras, each with an AirSync, and each with a paired monitor? Will they interfere? Anyone have experience with this?

MAJOR TESTIMONY HERE GUYS...

Last night I mounted my briteview to the top of my steadicam rig and I flew it with two tekkeon batteries, just in case one died so I could just switch and then be rolling again without unmounting and taking it all off. Well, the good news is that One Tekkeon battery lasted 6 hours and still had like 30 percent charge left.... The other BIG testimony is that for the entire 6 hours I was steadicaming the signal never broke up ONCE and the quality is just simply stunning! It was throw into a live mix and IMAGed up on 2 giant screens and it looked every bit as good as the HDMI and Component cable runs.. The client was so amazed and happy that next time he wasnt to just run all of briteviews... not sure how that would work, but it's an idea. I'll post up some of the video soon, but let's just say you can color me more than super happy with this purchase. I ran the whole thing on top of my HMC150 and it was just awesome. I mean, they thought the unit cost me thousands and I didn't correct them... lol

So, just wanted to share with you guys and say that also the location I was in was fair from ideal. The transmitter was on the rig, but the receiver was backstage behind the drum riser... but that didn't stop anything and also the entire building was a metal building and that didn't stop it either. There was also tons and tons of wireless audio and other signals going on all around and still nothing happened to it. I was just so happy cause the only time I've used this was as a client monitor, but maybe now I'm going to be using it for more IMAG.. I do have some trepadations about some locations, but that's just being prudent...

cheers and just thought I'd share this...

Thanks for sharing this! I have the HDelight for client monitoring and absolutely love it. Great to know how well Brite-View's products are holding up!

@JockRobin.

That Tilta Plate Looks pretty cool. Haven't tried it. Have however tried the Lanparte plate which is pretty awesome for the price. Very Very good in fact.

also check this out - obviously not as cheap as a Brite-view but MUUUUCH smaller, muuuuuch longer range, and designed for use with Cameras!
