Affordable Wireless HD transmission from Brite-View AirSyncHD

Hi All,

I'd like to share this cool accessory plate I discovered. It's called a TILTA. Would be quite good for powering a bunch of accessories it seems.:

http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=9099071019

I don't own one because I don't know how to order in Chinese. If someone would be so kind to help out with that maybe we could get a group buy or something.

Yeah, looks like it would do the trick. Good find.
Maybe someone here speaking Chinese could chime in.

Jeeez, my rig is getting more cluttered every day.

FS100 has an HDMI out only, no SDI.

I need to feed an external recorder, a monitor and the transmitter. So I would need a 3 fold HDMI splitter and power for the splitter (5V), monitor (12), recorder (12V), camera (7.5V) and the transmitter (mine needs also 12V).

I wish I could power all that from a single V.mount or Anton Bauer battery, but it would probably take an octopus of cables, splitters, voltage converters and what not to achieve this.

Would be nice to have a little box that lives on top of the battery with all those different voltages and outputs - preferably locking connectors.

Any ideas?

Frank

This seems to talk about it Frank. I am in exactly the same boat. http://www.lensrentals.com/blog/2011/03/powering-up-with-gold-mount-batteries

Nice find olindacat and welcome in my boat. But there is still the problem with different voltages.

Chinese anybody?

Frank

I've just ordered 2 Air SyncHD for my 7D's. I still don't have a power supply solution for them since Jag36 discontinued their 5v regulated lp-e6 battery plates. I'm wondering if this one would work, anyone knows? http://www.mg1concepts.com/LP-E6.html

I don't know the difference between regulated and unregulated voltage, so I'm wondering if it would be possible to do something to those unregulated plates to become regulated...

unregulated means you get what the battery gives. 12-16.8v for a four cell LiIon, 6-8.4 for a two cell Li-Ion.

Regulated means a constant set voltage, 5V, 12V 8.4V, etc. (or less at the end of the charge, but never more)

To get all the set voltages from a four cell source, use one (or more) of these: http://cgi.ebay.com/DC-DC-Converter...184?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f0ab1b1c0
You need one for each regulated voltage you need (and be sure not to overload the amperage. You get about 16W for 8.4V and 10W for 5V, 24W for 12V, Quite enough if you put one device on each.)

If you need to get 12V out of a two cell, you need a "step up" DC-DC converter. Ebay is your friend.

Thank for your reply! I'll check it out. =)

I just bought the Bright View and I have two Tekkeon Bateries taht I'm going to be using. One for the transmitter and one for the receiver. My monitors will also be on batteries so I'm hoping this proves to be a decent option. I'm using this all to feed from my steadicam. I'll report my findings very soon. I"m very optomistic as the first time I powered up.. no problem and I think two tekkeons is a really sleak option for what I'm doing... I'll mount the unit to a cheeeplate on top of the AF100, then velcro the brightview on the bottom and the batterie on top. I picked up a 1' HDMI and a 5" HDMI to feed my 5" monitor at the bottom of the steadicam... I think this should give me a pretty pro operation at a very reasonable price....

What model did you buy? What cable are you using? Could you post some photos, please?
I bought 2 Brite-views and this might be easier than to try to find a 5v LP-E6 plate (which I can't find anywhere).
Thank you!

My suggestion is to get the MP3450i R2or the MP3450 R2. Both can deliver the 5V needed. Well, at least that's what I got for my other application.

I bought there BV-2322 Kit. I'm just using a couple of standard HDMI cables. I'm going to do a test tomorrow so I'll take some photos. I think that the tekkeon will work really well. I also had a great idea for mounting on my camera. I bought 3 of the glidecam cheesplates and they are great and super cheap. I mounted it right on the top of the camera and I'm going to velcro all of it onto it and power it all up too....

I'm hoping for a good trial run tomorrow so I'll be happy to report back then...

Thanks! I'm going to try to find them in Europe later on, but they are quite expensive... and I need 2! They work for a long time but an LP-E6 solution with be quite a lot cheaper..

The range is considerably less (according to their specs) than the Brite-View one.

Great, looking forward to it! I've also thought about doing some sort of DSLR cage with the glidecam plates but never got to it. =P

Let us know how your test goes. =)

I don't know if they're opinions are biased, but from what I've read in forums, all the other options (in this price range) had complaints about the reception and the brite-view had very good reviews. I bought 2, but since I'm in Europe and don't have neither a current converter nor any portable solution to power them I can't make any judgement yet.

As soon as I'm able to find a 5v regulated LP-E6 battery plate I'll test the brite-view and post here.

Well, I am going to give up....My tekkeon has fried 2 asus wicast's and 1 airsync hd.. I feel so defeated. I had it set at 5v.. howver i think the tekkeon only 5v 2.5w and it require 3w. Any Ideas?

Woo... sorry to hear that.. =/
Were you using the usb output? If it was less wattage than required is it normal that it fried those equipments?
Can't help you there.. don't know much about those things..

Have a look at this: http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220762412723&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

You can feed it a 14V v-mount battery and finetune the output to what voltage you want.
I´m gonna build a little box with 3 or 4 of those to power my whole rig fom one v-mount.

Guys

I've had my Brightview working for several months flawlessly. I can post some pictures in a week or two but basically what I'm using is a 12v battery on the receiver and a idx V-mount plate with a regulated 12v power output on the camera with a couple of these:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300360265053&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

I tried several solutions and this is the only thing I could get to work. But it does work very nicely. The key is that the adapters on ebay are rated for 3.5 amps.

Just thought I'd share.
