Affordable Wireless HD transmission from Brite-View AirSyncHD

By the way - I'd like to make it very clear here that there is a certain Other Vendor (optitek) who is taking an Asus Wicast and claiming it is his own device. This is not so. Beware of Posers.

Where can this be found, checked B and H and they don't have them on the website, also how much are they selling for. Ken

Greetings to all. I'm completely sold on these AirSyncHD, but would like to know how different they are (distance wise) from the Asus Wicast ones.
It's just that I can't find the Brite-view ones anywhere in Europe and have no problem finding the Wicast (consequently no problem in power sources).

What I love most about the AirSyncHD is the loopback (with wicast I would have to get a splitter), but I read in their forum loopback still has a lot of issues.

Any thoughts?

same plate works for AirsyncHD.

I was hand making these same plates, but I can't hand make them for $50/each and live... oh well.

Dan, it's tough to compete with a bigger production that probably has more resources available. But your effort is well noticed and if it wasn't for you (and your youtube video) I'd still be scratching my head trying to figure out how to send a video stream from my stabilizer to the director without getting "blind". So kudos for you! =)

The only problem I have with these plates is I would need 2. One to power the AirSync (or GigaView820, if they are indeed the same) and another to power the monitor. I don't know if this would be better over something like this: http://jag35.com/new/products/battery-pack/

It doesn't cost much more than a regular 7D battery and it powers both devices (don't know for how long so might have to get 3 of those).

What do you guys think?

for small cameras (GH-2, 7D, 5D, maybe af-100) I'd recommend the LP-e6 plate.

You can get knockoff LP-e6's for like $10/ea... they run the transmitter for about an hour to an hour and a half, and they are lightweight.

I also make a P-Tap to brite-view cable which is better for cameras with a P-tap (some call it a Dtap) for accessories. I can also custom make something as needed if you want, like a hirose or something.

It's for a 7D... is the LP-E6 plate able to power both brite-view and monitor (a 12v 8" Lilliput)?

if you need to run two items I'd get that battery with multi-outputs. or you could get a regulated 5V plate for the brite-view and an unregulated plate for your lilliput...
