AF100 Rig Advice Needed!

Can someone help with a quick question (related to the thread as it has to do with rig advice).

I'm going to purchase the manhatten external monitor with a tekkon battery.

If I don't have a rail system, how does the tekkon battery attach to the camera? I've seen pictures of it just attached to the bottom- so that means it goes

Camera
tekkon battery
then quick release plate to tripod?

Thanks for the help if anyone can answer this..i've been looking at af100 rig pictures, but can't figure it out as most are shown with a shoulder mount.

AFAIK the Tekkon battery doesn't have any built-in mounting points, so you would need a mounting solution such as the $90 mount from CPM

Even if you could, mounting the battery under the camera would not be a good idea because it would raise the camera up quite a bit, likely causing alignment issues with other rail mounted accessories (mattebox, follow focus, etc.).
 
Thanks, but I'm still confused where it would attach...I can't wrap my mind around this. And does the battery only power the monitor, or would it be used to power the camera? Or can I have a battery for just the monitor and then the normal batteries for the AF100.

I'd be picking a fixed zoom 1/3" camera for what you will be using it for. Both Sony and Panasonic have great cameras to pick from. You will also find great deals on used cameras that will help with your budget. Sorry to say I would not recommend the AF100 to the OP.
 
Ok let me clarify a few things, all the environments will be controlled except for the sports. For the sports, I will be covering moreso the even rather than the actual sports game (someone else has that covered).
