AF100 now includes 14-140 lens

Didn't see this posted and figured it would be of interest -

Not sure if this is permanent or a limited time thing - but the AF100 now seems to be shipping with the 14-140 lens included.

Panasonic has done this many times before. I got a DVX100A early and bought Barry Green's book on my own. Then Pany decided to include it with the camera. I got an HVX200 early with no P2 cards. Then Pany included a 4G P2 card (later 8G) with the camera.

But hey, at least you got to use your camera for a few months and hopefully made some money from it.

I saw a post from Texas Media Systems earlier with the lens included and thought it was just them. But I guess everybody is offering the free lens.

I am sure the current wave is created by the competition (from Sony) to the most part.

Thats kind of unfair and bitter! (and a bit personalised)

Who amongst us does not "sweeten the deal" to get the gig?

Early adopters have had 6 months to make an easy profit from a low price piece of kit and also get a nice little jump on their competitors. Something very wrong if one has not amortised it yet.

I make no apologies and amortised my camera by mid-Feb.

The point is, we here on this forum are all loyal and supportive of Panasonic and I would hope and expect to find the same loyalty from Panasonic toward the early adopters who put them on the map.

Apparently not.

yeah, i have no regrets on the early purchase. The camera has been paid for quite a while now. Happy to be making money with it. I bought the 14-140 as well, but realized that it wasn't the lens for me, sold it just a few weeks ago. I aso bought my DP6 too early to get the forum discount, but no regrets there either, you get the gear when you need it.

I bought a cng fueled car at the height of the high gas prices a few years back, paid waaaaayyyy too much for it, but I've had $1 a gallon fuel for the last several years as well as not adding to the gnarly polluted air we get in the valley i live in.

Looks like i've made a habit out of this.
