I've seen enough comments in other threads, and I've logged enough hours on the camera now, I thought I might as well start the chatter in one thread. Here's my wish list, in order of importance to me:
1. Useable, or at least modular EVF.
2. Assign ISO setting to the thumbwheel.
3. A new lens offering: 12-60/2.0 with OIS, with smooth (non-incremental) aperture control and remote/rocker zoom controllable while we're at it, available for under $2000.
4. Better handle. This new handle, aside from being comfortable and adjustable, will have a thumbwheel for focusing, along with a smaller thumb dial for controlling aperture, maybe even a rocker to control the zoom of the new lens.
5. Touch-screen EVF allowing pinpoint autofocus (and let's loose the function joystick while we're at it).
6. Higher dynamic range sensor. Even with decent gamma curve control, the way the AF100 blows out highlights at the slightest hint of over exposure just doesn't cut it.
7. Auto iris algorithm that sets exposure based primarily on highlights instead of the century-old method of averaging the whole frame.
8. De-couple the face-detect feature from BOTH auto focus and auto iris, allowing it to be used only with auto focus (this way this feature is currently implemented is so anglo-centric I wouldn't be surprised if somebody sues for civil rights violations).
Let the wild rumpus begin!
