"af100 highlight prototye test with one shot using iscorama"

I saw many of you beeing concerned about the hightlight-rendering of the AG-AF100....

...so just out of curiosity: let me know what you think.

Thank you very much!

If this is legit I'm impressed by everything except the first lens that's shown on the AF100... That's probably the 14-140 f4 lens, and I'm just not a fan. The 50 1.4 looks excellent on both cameras. It seems to me there are a couple miss labeled shots because it said Zeiss 50mm, but there was definitely zooming going on...

That is legit, Thats CharlesLim (he is on this site). Im guessing its a 95% model as it was just done a day or so ago. (in Singapore)

what's up with the dead pixels popping on some of the AF-100's?

Is it the same camera going round and round? If this is truly a 95% done camera, you would think that Panasonic would lend out only the ones that are pristine.

I sure do hope that after all this wait I do not get my AF-100 with one of those blemishes...

Yes, there were two that had dead pixels on them, and yes those are the same cameras going around and around.

They have already said that dead pixels are not part of their production spec, and they apologized to us for it when they handed the cameras to us. But it's just part and parcel of working with a prerelease product.

Can you say which camera may have been used for this test? Do you know what latest stage the camera is at now, and what the ETA is for such a model to get into Barry's hand? Thanks.
According to Hunter, that was shot in Singapore, which would mean it's out of Jan's jurisdiction. Jan only oversees the USA territory.

Phew...I did remember you saying this before and I thought this new test was shot with a "closer to production" model than the one you guys used when you went to Japan to try them out. I was like "eeeeeek!...not again"

Thanks for the clarification.

This test is unfortunately - terrifying!

Hopefully we've reached rock bottom here. Maybe it's a 'break 'em down and build 'em up in a new image kind of thing...

This test is unfortunately - terrifying!

Boy I have to agree 1000%. It immediately sent me over to the Sony EX forum wondering if I should plunk down the extra cash needed for an F3. Dynamic range did look awful and I'm not sure what this was supposed to prove other than how to make terrible looking footage.

Barry, am waiting on pins an needles to see your test results.

It's not like it's the forum's fault for whatever shortcomings the camera system may or may not have.

Something to make everyone feel a little better. Phil Bloom recent footage with the GH2. It really isn't the camera. It's the shooter. It's the script. It's the subject.

(still, damn you F3. damn you to hell with your 12 stops dynamic range and incredible S/N ratio!)

My previous post is laden with levity... I thought that was obvious.

I'm very optimistic about the AF100 and have pre-ordered it. Much of the footage to date, however, has been somewhat underwhelming. I believe it's an education issue, as stated several times previously, so I'm not worried...

I can't wait to see Barry's footage, though, because this emotional roller coaster ride is taking its toll!:2vrolijk_08:

Love P. Bloom's footage above BTW.
