AF100 for Greenscreen

We have had good results in the past shooting greenscreen with our HVX200 and using Keylight. We have a greenscreen shoot coming up and I would like to use the AF100. We don't use an external recorder with the AF100, just shoot straight to the SD cards. Anyone have an opinion as to whether we stick with the 200 for greenscreen or AVCHD does the codec hold up well on the AF100?

I would probably stick with the 200 for 2 reasons, 422 and deeper depth of field, not to say that you won't get a successful key on the af100..

I'v shot quite a bit of green screen with the AF in native codec and have had no problems. Dial your detail down to about minus 3, as over detailed video breaks more keys than you think.

I don't have an HVX 200 or an AF 100 so take what I say with that understanding. However, I do have an FS 100 which shoots in the same AVCHD type codec as the AF 100 with
the same bitrate, so I think it would be pretty comparable. I just did a greenscreen shoot with the FS 100. I found the shallow depth of field a plus. I could 'rack' the
greenscreen slightly out of focus. That tended to 'smooth' out all the wrinkles and imperfections in the screen. Just my opinion. Seems to work fine from what I can tell.

Thanks Matt. Is that with the native codec? I'll be doing a test before the shoot but just gathering info as much as I can. Thanks!

Yes sir.

I did that RED vs AF100 green screen test for the express reason of testing the codec.

I was doubtful it would do well.

I was wrong, it works very well for green screen work.
