AF100 Event in Chicago

Hey yeah Andy and Kari,

Actually it was a very cool event as I learned stuff too. I am in total awe of the caliber of support accessories there already are for this camera. And that Andy and I think the same way on this crop factor thing. And that Kari has multi-colored crocs, I AM SO JEALOUS. She and Colleen put on a very nice venue and having the guys from 16 X 9 and Zeiss there was icing on the cake. Good show all, and I am exhausted. Day stated at 3:00am east coast time.

And to all a Good Night!

Great event! Nice to be able to play with the camera with the different Zeiss lenses as well as the Olympus lenses and the Lumix 14-140. Thanks to all who put it on, and thanks Jan for your help and info!

This was my first opportunity to hear Jan, and I have to say, she did an amazing job. Public speaking, in general, isn't something that most folks do well, and this is even more true when there's open-ended Q&A involved. Jan addressed every question in an open and honest way, didn't rush through any explanations, and presented possibly the best "quick" explanation of the importance of b-frames in a long GOP codec that I've heard.

Panasonic is extremely lucky to have Jan in this role, and it was a pleasure seeing and hearing her make this presentation. - Tim

Can you repeat this please. The GH1 has only P frames, right?

Thanks for all that could make it! I learned a lot as well, Jan you are always full of such great information.

Tim, thanks for the great pictures. Hopefully we'll have some up on our website soon.

Thanks for sharing the images. We don't have any panasonic professional dealers close that actually have a store front and just don't buy on demand so nothing like this is going to come near me, unless of course Barry gets something in Wilmington which is only 2 hrs away from where I am. Of course, I'll have my camera before it could even happen anyways :)

Hey everyone, I'm shooting a short in Chicago either the 1st or 2nd week of January and am looking for a gaffer. If anyone is interested please PM me.

Sorry, I know that was off topic but I figured this was a great place to find Chicago filmmakers. And to get this post back on topic, Tim very nice pictures. You got one of me checking out the focus in red feature which works surprisingly well. I thought I would really miss the focus assist magnification, but the focus in red tool seems like it is a great (and possibly better) replacement.
