AF100, 5D, F3 Candlelight Test

Thanks for posting. Not too surprised at the results. I can imagine the F3 would be even better recording externally. What profile did you use on the 5D? I wonder if the Technicolor cinestyle would resurrect any shadow detail?

Not that I have illusions about the F3 > AF100 > 5DII, but the still frame triptych tells me that the effective focal lengths varied with every camera, and that at the very least the AF100 appears well out of focus. Barry Green posted a link to an AF100 video where he lit the whole thing with a single tea candle (including fill and hair), and it looked good. Hardly fair to say "biggest disappointment" when better AF100 footage has already been shown.

...and yes, I know, the F3 would still win in this comparison, just not by this wide a margin.

Tim, I didn't do the test, just found it on the web. At the bottom of their webpage there is a contact email, maybe they can tell you more details about the test.

agree, this doesn't seem to be a very well controlled test, though I still find interesting to compare these three particular cameras. In my opinion, it is always good to take this informal tests/comparisons with a pinch of salt.
