AF100 + 14-140 low light equal or lesser than ex3 or hmc150 etc

Any chance you can post this up? Going back and forth on the 14 - 140, would be curious to see the raw result after Neat.
Really no need to post a sample. Just download the trial version and run it for yourself. TRUST ME, I've tried almost every noise reduction there is for video and I FEEL neatvideo is the BEST and is simple to use. REALLY saves the day on my HVX200! Just try it and have your credit card ready as you will most likely buy it..

Impressed enough with the Neat demo that I just bought it.

Re-did one of the clips to make sure I had focus spot-on. Here's AF100 at 3200 ISO (3200!) and f/5.8. The lighting was (as before mentioned, two overhead 25w- or 40-watt equivalent compact fluorescents).

Thanks for the test Barry, that is insane, really going to add a great deal of functionality to the 14-140 for event work.

And, to keep it all in one post, here's the "neat" file:

And, please keep in mind, I have no idea how to run Neat's software. I literally just cliked on a profile, said "auto", and let it do its thing. Someone who knows what they're doing may very well be able to get much better results.

Barry, start creating profiles for camera with settings.
Just shoot a grey card at various settings, and viola, you will have these saved for future use. From there, you can tweak the profile settings for your desired look or amount of noise deduction.
With the grey card (or better yet a black grey white card) you open the plug in and select a portion of the frame which will highlight green (the bigger the area the better). Then hit profile, and you will see a percentage of the profile (with the grey card you will get 80-90% results, which is GOOD). Then you select what and how much noise reduction you need on the right side (there are presets you might want to play with as a starting point then tweak from there). once you have the desired look, save the preset with the camera settings like ISO, scene file of camera, and your neatvideo ID that you make up for future reference. You will always be able to tweak these settings and save that profile. Eventually, you'll have 2 or 3 profiles that seem to work the way you intend it to. I just love this plug in with my HVX! Maybe in the future users can upload profiles that they feel benefits to this camera and other's like the HVX...
I'm actually surprised your didn't have this plugin already. I think everybody should have neatvideo!

Looks like you got it.

The "Advanced" mode is quite simple (play with it a bit and you'll know all there is to know) if you want to "get nerdy with it." You can control the noise reduction on a per-channel basis, as well as post-NR sharpening to a very specific degree.

Seeing the original MTS, if that's noise at 3200 ISO... well. Wow. A DSLR I keep handy looks like a ten-year-old cellphone camera at 3200.

I originally purchased Neat Video for a shot on an HVX200 that was taken inside a dim, dusty, turkey barn. In addition to the lighting limitations (HVX's gain was maxed), my poor cinematographer was having a hard time concentrating, what with the constant fear of being nipped in the rear by one of 3000 angry teenage holiday meals.

Thanks so much for the tip. My buddy bought one and he said it should be in this week or next. The guy from photovillage was a pleasure to deal with.. prompt email and very courteous....

I'm wondering if the duclos people will be able to cinematize this..? Might make a killer deal if they can and I for one can't wait to use this thing on the GH2 which will be here tomorrow. I'm excited to shoot stills again.

Only one I know of is the Voigtlander 25mm f/0.95. Just ordered one from PhotoVillage, who says that he has a shipment inbound that could very well be here before Christmas (pending how long it takes to clear Customs). Says that they will all sell out in a day, but if you paypal the price in full beforehand, you'll definitely unquestionably get one. Lots of folks have expressed interest, but few have paid in full beforehand, so if you desperately want one, that seems like a way to get one sooner than later.

I asked Panasonic about the rumored "bright zooms" while we were in Osaka, but the folks I was talking to were from the broadcast side, not the consumer company. The consumer company makes the Lumix lenses, so there was no firm information offered. Jan may know more, of course.
