C100: AF hunting

I just got my new C100 Mk2. I love it. Is there a way to modify the AF as it hunts constantly and when it shifts it is dramatic not gentle? It even hunts when the lens cap is on (I can hear it)! The lenses I have tried are the EF 24-105mm f/4L IS ,

EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM , and the EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM Lens. I have a UV filter on each lens. Should I remove that? Light/contrast were fine.

The AF will hunt when the light is low. Just switch on the waveform monitor and it will be clear to you that it hunts in low light. It will also hunt when the contrast is low. It will obviously hunt when the lens cap is on, because the camera doesn't know that lens cap is on. There would be no light, so it would hunt. The hunting will stop when you feed the scene with adequate light or if you switch off the AF button.

UV filter shouldn't Create a problem.

The performance of the continuous af also depends on depth of field. If you're shooting with the 70-200 f/2.8 wide open at 150mm then it's going to hunt more and shift more abruptly than if you use the 24-105 at f/11 at 24mm. Also as Indiawilds pointed out, it works MUCH better when you have more light coming into the sensor. If you shoot in a low light situation you'll need to be aware of how the lens works with the continuous af in low light, and take that into account when adjusting your f stop and focal length. I've found that the 28mm f/1.8 works very well even when wide open in low light, but the 24-105 has all sorts of issues at f/4 at any focal length in low light. Each lens performs a little differently with the continuous AF and it took me a couple of months to really figure this out and work with it. With that said, one you figure out the quirks of each lens this is a very helpful feature that I use on almost every shoot. Also, I've found that they 70-200 tends to have the most issues with continuous af so I will typically just use push auto with that lens.

I just got the m2 and I love it, but a bit disappointed that the 70d autofocus seems to be better. Besides the ability of touch screen selection, you can also change the size of the box where AF hunts. Sucks mk2 doesnt let you modify that AF box at all. We should be able to move that box with the joystick.
