Ugh, that looks SO good...I can't wait to hear hands-on opinions once it comes out.

I'm sure this has been asked before, but do people think that a P2 version will be released?

Yeah we think eventually. They have to keep a price point with this one. But think they would come out with a p2 version maybe about a year after? Hopefully sooner.

anybody notice in their opening picture of the "micro 4/3rds standard" where they show the ring and the sensor that the sensor has a big fat fingerprint on it?

Color space will be HD-standard Rec 709.

If you mean color sampling, the recorded codec will be 4:2:0, the HD-SDI and HDMI ports will be 4:2:2.

Hi can you please clarify what that means? Does that mean that you need a nanoflash in order to record 4:2:2?

Also, anyone know the rough release date and price for this cam? I mean in general is it slated for this October-December, or for next year? And is the price about 6000$ or 8000 or what?

Well, a nano is one way to record 4:2:2. You could also use a KiPro, or a CineDeck, or a Wafian, or any manner of other devices. But the Nano is probably the most reasonably priced portable recorder for that purpose.

Expect December 31st and $5999.95. Anything better than that will be a pleasant surprise.

panasonic typically has industry-leading bad marketing material design. generally due to east v west design and translation issues. but this little mini-site is absolutely amatureish.
