AF-100 shoot at Balboa Park

Took the camera out to Balboa Park in San Diego for some late afternoon shooting. I loved it!
Tried out all the glass I have which isn't saying much.
I'm more of a production shooter that uses full size eng. cameras and also small camcorders so I'm still getting used to changing lenses for the right shot. Really like the Lumix 14mm and 20mm lenses. Wish I had a grip with me so I could take a slider for some of the shots, but I only spent about three hours in the park.

Another thumbs up from Boston. Think we're sick of winter? Loved the chroma on this one, beautiful silhouettes.

Looks great! Nice framing as well. Do you remember your AF100 settings?
Thanks! Here are the settings I used.

Gamma: Cine-Like V
Matrix: NORM2
detail -4
v detail -5
detail coring +2
chroma -4
Cine-Like V blacks are to bright for me so I have been shooting with Cine Like D this week and I like the contrast it brings. I did bring the blacks down in almost all the shots.

cool, nice shots. I'm thinking about filming there. Did you run into any problems with security? did you need a permit?

Thanks! Balboa Park is my favorite place to go and walk around even without a camera. A San Diego gem! I've never needed a permit to shoot their as a one man band but I did need one for a promo shoot with lots of gear and talent.

Thank DrHST! I try never to complain about the weather here because I know how the rest of the country has it in the winter. "Oh darn its only 68 today!" Sounds so stupid! HaHa!

I second this. Balboa park is one of the best city parks I've ever experienced. It's an amazing place! And so many museums!

I always enjoyed Balboa Park. Many of the buildings there went through a huge restoration years back as they were built as temp buildings for an Expo. I really miss the area.

Its kind of funny because when I shot this piece it was during the week and kind of cold so not very busy with tourist and vendors. I want to go back on a weekend and get the other flavor of the park. Street performs and artist are all over the place. Makes for great subjects. A side note. I'm going to Zion National Park next week. Cant wait to shoot that amazing place! Never been to Zion or Utah before so if anyone has any suggestions for good places to shoot I would love to hear them. Also have a GH2 coming tomorrow! I love those toys!
