Advice on lenses for a beginner

Thanks for all the help.

I got my hands on a SEL55210 for a good price, my only lens at the moment with the Canon FD 50mm 1.4 on the way. The Sony seems good for landscape shots. My Laptops GPU is broken so I've ordered a custom PC which will arrive next week. I can't wait to actually be able to do some proper work as my FS100 is collecting dust, I'm not even able to watch footage back. This is the first thing I've really shot with my FS100, very rough but I'm really impressed with how it came out. No colour correction, just sped up.

Yesterday I ordered the 50mm f1.4 SSC in amazing condition

Oh dang...you're going to love that lens. A real great one for things like interviews or talking heads. (would be wonderful for something narrative, I wish I had the opportunity or time to use it in such fashion)

Another strong vote for the kit lens and although I have the metabones adapter and some FD lenses as well, I'm in the 75% percent camp. Just find for the work I do (a lot not so glamourous) the kit lens gets the job done.

And on the subject of time-lapse clouds, I've been finding myself shooting a lot of that lately. Kind of relaxing.

I opted against the kit lens for money reasons - got the 55-210 instead as my go to e-mount lens, also considering the sigma 19mm e-mount as well.

I'm really excited to try the 50mm FD. I was thinking of getting another FD to compliment, I want something for shooting objects further away - what would be better, a fixed SC 135mm f2.5 or a 35-105 f3.5? I'm thinking the 135mm, it'll have a better picture and will let me shoot objects further away right? Might sound stupid but I'm still getting to grips with lenses :cheesy:
