GH4 advice for gear

In 3-4 weeks ill be goin on a vacation to follow GoldRush Rally and or Gumball3000. I have my gh4 ready with tripod bag, batteries, sd cards ect. 2 lenses 14-140mm and fisheye.

I want to get a decent low light lens like 20mm 1.7 and a Rode Video Mic pro, question is should I rent them or jus buy? or rent one and buy one?

the rode vmp are like $120-180 on craigslist some even new.

If you can find a 20/1.7 used, that may be better. If you choose to rent, go better with a Leica 15/1.7 or 25/1.4 or Voigtlander 17.5 or 25 for barely any more money.

As to the VMP, they're easy to find used all over the place. Doesn't make much sense to rent one, imo... buy one and then sell it afterwards if you don't need it.

Don't forget a good ND filter or two.
 
ok thanks thats what i was thinking since ill be short on cash, Ill buy a vmp and rent a voigtlander or somthing similar.

any sites you recommend to rent from?
im in cali
 
You could always buy used, and then sell them when you get back from vacation. ( which will probably be cheaper than renting for a couple of weeks )
