Advice before buy a GH2

I am seriously considering to buy a GH2 but I am concern with the green tones at low low light conditions at indoor shoots. I have seen some photos and movies with this unpleasant effect and others in similar conditions really nice without it. I would like to be sure that this is a bad use or configuration of the camera instead an unspected behaviour when you are shooting. I appreciate your comments, I would not like to pay around 1000Euros and be worry each time I use the camera indoor. Really I like this camera and I am sure all of you are happy with it, I would like to join the group.

Having owned the 5Dmk2 since release, I am finding it hard to adapt to the LCD, EVF GH2 screen as reference to exposure and colour, due to the shift when pressing the record button. And to the resolution of the LCD screen when using a Z-Finder type adapter.

This is the main problem for me and that the body is just a bit to small to hold in a comfortable fashion. That aside the video resolution is much higher than the 5Dmk2 and when doing a side by side, I have to check that the 5D is actually in focus.

I could name a whole host of other issues but that is covered elseware.

I wanted to use this camera before purchasing the AF101 and I am now happy to do so.

I don't know about the GH2 exactly...but with the GH1 Playing with the white balance and film modes can go a long way in getting the color you want. I would NOT let it affect your purchase of the camera....the GH2 is the most advanced DLSR (I know it's not a DLSR) for video available right now. Opinions on the over all look will vary, but on the technical side it's a fact - nothing comes close : No overheating, virtually no aliasing/moire, functional EVF, articulating screen, HDMI monitoring, ETC mode, high quality 720 mode....If you can buy one don't look back.

I've found that the color shift and overall crappiness of underexposed areas when shooting in low-light is DRAMATICALLY affected by color profiles. I tried smooth and hated it so now I stick to cinema.

Come on i own one and am generaly happy but dont come out with the no moire or ailasing or the E-T-C now that canon are starting putting lossless 10x extra zoom on their DSLRS,regarding profiles i find cinema too dark unless its extremely bright and prefer smooth, each to their own.

Oh boy. Why can't people just go to their local photo store and take an SD card pop it into their display camera, shoot something and make decisions based on their own research? So many threads asking the same question, you think I should buy this camera? When I went to buy my GH1 I had done my research thru viewing footage shot from other people, reading reviews and doing some in store testing. I decided by myself to buy it without asking a single soul if I should. I am getting the D7000 and have gone thru exactly the same process. Why can't other people do the same?

I was gonna buy a black dog, but everybody said they lick to much. Do you guys think I should buy a white one, Im not sure, I once saw a white dog bite somebody+ they drool a lot.

If you had 500.00 budget would you buy a brown dog or a black dog. Oh, and what type of leash should I get. Mspca rumors says the auto extracting kind seem to have a kick back. Has anybody used the bungee knock off leashes from india. I heard they kinda suck, but Im on a buget. Thanks in advance:)

Saloyche....just get the GH2! You won't regret it. All of these cameras are capable tools in the right hands so if the GH2 is what caught your eye then go for it. You could spend months on debates between cameras but you're going to need all that time for debating which lenses to buy!

Doing a proper white balance is much easier than it was with the T2i.
In all my shooting the most accurate colors are achieved by white balancing with a proper white card...duh...

It only takes seconds to white balance with the GH2. The pre-sets are OK but unless you have
a monitor set-up in a black tent then trying to "dial-in" a WB is an exercise in futility.

Of course doing a creative adjustment is OK but I prefer to do it in post and not in the field.

I"m enjoying the WB by kelvin... Really like that option and then using the zones to tweek it too... It's been a pretty good solution so far...
