Adobe Premiere CS3 and MXF

I just downloaded and install the latest Premiere CS3. I exported some mxf files to an external hardrive from a Panasonic HVX200 P2 card. Can anyone help me step by step how to import these mxf files?

I tried installing drivers from Panasonic but Premiere still can't read the files. I'm using Windoes XP. Please help. Thanks.

As long as you've kept the file structure completely intact from the P2 card, you should be able to import the .mxf files from the video folder straight into Premiere ... Premiere will do the rest and attach the audio automatically.

Just open Premiere and doubleclick in the project pane or go to file/import to browse for the video folder that contains the .mxf video files.

John,

Thanks for the reply. Yes the P2 file structure is still in place. When I tried importing the mxf files, Premiere gives an error saying file format is not recognize. This is getting annoying. Adobe help says I need to install the driver from panasonic. Did that and still doesn't work.

Anymore tips or suggestions will help.

Thanks.

IIRC, you don't use the standard video file import either, but I don't have access to mine right now,

ADDED: after double checking, you just go to File|Import, and navigate to the MXF files in the Video folder, and select one or many. then they show up in the browser and can be pulled to the Timeline, and the audio shows up. You must have 3.1 tho.
