Adobe customers: check your credit cards accounts!

This is why I never allow my CC number to be stored with any site cloud or not. I wonder if Adobe allows their cloud users the option to not save CC info and lets them enter the information once a month?

I didn't go for the cloud either but I did purchase CS6 on a download with a card. I wonder if it's only current subscriptions.

I have CC and I got the "email" tonight saying basically that I should change my password. Oh well. Took about 2 minutes. Moving on. If the credit card was compromised that will be a bit of a pain, but it's all covered so I'm not stressing. CC is worth it to me. Love the updates. Hate the bugs. I wish they'd kill all the bugs first then roll out all these new "features". That's my only issue with it so far.

It seems like alot of people are willing Adobe to fail, seems strange to me. I love Creative Cloud, best money i've ever spent.

It is a shame they got hacked, happens to the best of them though. Apple were hacked big time, 2 months ago.

Yippee! Funny thing is, I just got an email yesterday notifying me that my CC on file is about to expire and I need to update the info. Hmmm, guess who's not going to get that updated info? :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

I've already read some reports of people getting phishing emails asking them to update CC info. It seems the credit card numbers the hackers got were encrypted, so they're using the un-encrypted info (email address) to see if they can trick you all into giving them your credit card details (probably while they try to decrypt the credit card information themselves).

That was exactly what I thought about that email. The email address is listed as email@mail.adobesystems.com so that didn't really seem legit. Plus I was like, well if they reset my password how am I supposed to fix the issue if they didn't give me a temporary password?

They won't give you a temp password. Once you click the link, you'll go to Adobe and enter your email and create a new password for your account. I'm pretty sure it's 100% from Adobe.

How you could exactly think about that email, if it does not ask you to update your CC. All they do is giving you a URL (which is not even a link - quite clever for Adobe not to provide a link, BTW) to update your password. You use URL and you go to the adobe site - not any other place.

The hate for Adobe is growing old. I love the products, the update cycles are wonderful, and the pricing totally works for me. If you don't like it, nobody cares. Use something else. But stop complaining in a forum where Adobe doesn't frequent.

I've had to get a new CC 3 times in the last 4 years due to CC skimmers so there are 'real world' threats just like there are cyber threats. I'm not on the hook for the fraudulent charge and the bank sends me a new CC via FedEx next day. Biggest hassle is setting up all my auto-pay accounts again.

I'm much more afraid of someone hacking my email accounts. Much more useful info in there than a CC number that will be killed w/in hours of the first suspect charge.

I think there are several different emails: some coming from adobe, some coming from the hackers. Be careful which one you answer!
I got the adobe one. I know because I didn't use it: I went directly to the adobe site and tried to update my password, then got a message that was identical to the original one.
Also: I don't have CC, so it seems all adobe customers were compromised, not only CC subscribers.
If you use the same password for everything (bad idea btw), you may want to go around the web changing it to something different...

It's legit. However, to be on the safe side, log into your account directly from Adobe.com; don't click on the link provided on the email. Fortunately the email I received was from Adobe, but I never take chances. When you log in, they'll confirm that they sent you an email. Follow the instructions and change your password.

I've been a Cloud member for a couple of years now. No issues. In fact, it's great. Online credit card theft is no different than a store vendor ripping off your credit card number. It happens ANYWHERE and EVERYWHERE. Don't be silly and don't deny yourself.

Wait! I'm confused. I got the email from adobe. I did go to the link (cut and paste) provided and gave them an email only. Then Adobe sent me an email with a link to reset my password, which I did. I was able then to go to adobe.com to my account and log in with the new password. So... I think that first email was legitimate, no? Adobe likes my new password, all seems OK to me. You guys?

I like adobe and don't like the subscription. I'm not doing it because I think it's crappy and they are losing me as a customer. You like it. Great! Nobody cares.

Me too. Just moved from FC Studio 3 to CS6. Was planning to stay with Adobe as I liked
PP CS6 more than FCP X. Now I'm going back to FCP as I'm not down with doing a 'rental'.
I don't like having my credit card 'on file' with anyone for auto withdrawal....this is one
of the reasons why.
