Additional Canon EOS Cinema Primes?

Is there any indication that Canon will make and/or release an 18mm, 35mm, and/or something even wider in their EOS Cinema Prime lineup?

I've heard they may be putting out a "2nd class" run of cheaper glass in the future (NAB maybe?) that would still be cine minded but wouldn't be as painful to the pocket.

Making a good cinema lens set is a big commitment and a very difficult task, and I've seen companies fail because of their lack of commitment to such an endevour from the start.

I was happy when Canon announced their cinema lens line, as it seemed to be well designed and priced as if to compete with higher quality lens sets... if I dare deduct performance based on cost. But I was concerned after seeing only an initial three focal lengths with 'more on the way later' attitude. It was reminiscent of Sony's half-assed attempt at a cinema lens set with the F3. Among many issues, they promised more focal lengths in the future. The F3 isn't getting any younger and it seems that they have all but given up on those lenses. Sorry to those people who bought them... there will never be anything below a 35mm or above an 85mm. Sony, it seems, had no real ambition to compete in the cinema glass arena other than to boost sales. And it showed! I can't think of a worse attempt at a cinema lens line by any other major film, video, or lens company.

I hope Canon does not abandon their post. It seems they have dug a much deeper stake (than Sony) into the game and they also seem to be striving for a higher quality and performance level. I can only hope this financial stake in their lenses thus far, holds their feet to the fire, and forces them to stay calm and carry on. People who invest in lenses, should not get left in the cold like that... or they should just leave it to the pros': Cooke, Zeiss and Angenieux.
