i'd like to know more specs on the fisheye HD. do you know if there is going to be an Ultra fisheye like model?

I only have word on the one. I don't have spec's either and I am looking forward to them.

I am gonna guess that fisheye you have listed is going to be a lot like the hvx version that was the same price. I think the name of that one was the Ultra Fisheye. The Extreme fisheye is the pricey one. That being said I will be picking up one of the Ultras for 595 from you guys. I really like the look of that fish. Too much distortion on that extreme for my taste.

Btw Andrew got my HPX170 last week and the fix you guys did came out great!

Thanks
jeff

Sorry for the noob question but whats the difference between these adapters and a DOF/35mm adapter?

by end of this month do you mean October or November? I know 'this month' would indicate Oct but that just seems really quick.

its a whole different ball game. these are just screw on glass and a 35mm adapter is a device that lest you use 35mm lenses. whole different ball of wax

Not a prob.

These adapters give you wider angles, more optical telephoto zoom and a fisheye effect. DOF adapters as just brought out give you the same depth of field effects as a 35mm film camera.

The sales rep is saying available for order with Century on 10/31/08.

I think that it's pretty quick too. :) I'm not complaining.

Does it say anything in their preliminary specs on either of these lenses about vignetting or zoom thru/focusing?

Hey roro.

I gave you all of the info that I had but that doesn't mean I can't pry it out of someone over at Century. I'll see if I can get you guys another tid-bit tomorrow. :)

Do you know, Andrew, if an step-up ring will be available to put our Wide angle adapter ( 0HD-75CV-HVX) for my HVX200A on a HPX170.

most of these adapters are bayonet mount, meaning they won't use the camera's threads. so not sure if there will be any way of step adapters working.

andrew, any chance of getting a screen capture with the fisheye on either the 150 or 170?

I'll check to see what I can get.

Just got off the phone with one of the guys in LA and he said that they should have snap shots ready next week. It looks like they are seeing a bit of a delay in shipping out product.

Has there been any new information about these new lenses? I would love to see a screen grab or even just an actually photo of the fisheye lens.

Terrell

Hey Terrell,

I'm supposed to be getting some screen grabs next week sometime. We'll see if it happens.

I saw the Century .65x today at DV Expo for the 170/150 and it looked good. They had a 170 setup with one and I pulled mine out and you get about 30% wider angle of view with the adapter, which attaches on bayonet style. It was not full zoom-thru, but it still worked well.
