Kids, look it up.

Main Entry: it's
Pronunciation: \ˈits, əts\
Date: circa 1555
:
it is : it has

1555. Well before email and text messages.
It was widely accepted as slang in the spoken English language, not written though. It has (see what I did there :) ) only recently crawled into the written language as "it's" due to the Internet and general laziness.

I know what I was taught in school and I don't need the Internet to tell me otherwise. Of course, I'm probably much older than you and things change. I have no idea what they are teaching in school today.

I'm not an English major, so who gives a shi*? :)
Neither am I and I couldn't agree more!

When the Horrigan Dictionary has been the standard reference for the English language for almost 200 years, then I will defer to it. Until then, I will get the info from the experts.

I'm not a doctor, but I play one on TV.
Why are you being an ass? I'm telling you what I was taught. In Canada and Great Britain things are a little different. Like the word colour for instance.

Everyone I know (my age) was taught that way.

I'll move on though since you really seem to have a great streak of trying to piss people off lately. Better run before the Mod steps in to tell you to stop again.

You can go play games with someone else.

Cheers!

Mike

I wasn't told to stop, the other guy was.

I'm telling you what I was taught. In Canada...

Ah... there you go. Aren't there laws in Canada against people learning English? I'm not surprised that they teach you incorrectly.

(I'm joking. Now leave me alone so I can work.

LOL!

I thought it was just Tommy harassing me about Canadian/British Engish! :)

Let's get back on topic. We've screwed up this thread enough already.

What's the topic? Oh yeah...

We need an "acting" forum around here. Huh? We have one? Oh. Carry on.

Actually - given that the topic is whether or not we should have an acting forum....

...kinda seems like that was settled, doesn't it?
