Accounting for XHA1 operational hours

If I by a used XHA1, and the seller says that it only has 70 hours of use, is there any log technical page or speedometer, in the camera that I can access to verify his claim? Or do I have to take their word for it?

Im not sure how big part the hour of operation really matters, I think you can probably make the camera last for a really long time if it's taken care of properly, so find a buyer you feel you can trust, and ask him more about how he treated the camera, and go into the depth of that more, rather than just looking at a hour meter, as your hour meter can display 5, and the camera might break because of terrible use a week later. But as far as I know, the xh-a1 is rather durable, so really man, I just bought one myself, I would just loosen up on the being scared part, because when it's in your possesion you'll have alot worse things to worry about, important or not..

hope this helps / guides you somehow 8)

I'm soooooooo glad the A1 doesn't have an hour meter. Really, it just became such a big issue with the DVX and I think CherryTime said anything better than I could. It's a nice piece of equipment, it should work fine....buy it and enjoy.

To guesstimate the usage, count how many tapes ran through it, ie 63 minute tape, multiply by 2 to include capture time (unless you used an HV20/30)= rough idea of usage
