According to my needs... XHA1 vs GH13?

Hi all,

I have questions/doubts about video and dslr.

I make short movies from time to time (I want increase this) and I love to shoot in my trips as perfectly as possible. I come from video filmmaking and I'm pretty new at dslr world. I own one Panny GH13 and one Canon XHA1. I'm thinking to sell the XHA1 because I don't give many use... I take the GH13 much more... but I'm not sure if I'm going to miss it with time.

I know a bit of pros and cons about the two cameras but one neg for the XHA1 is the use of tapes. Maybe, if I need a new videocamera in the future, the way to go would be something like XF100 or XF300?

Here my questions:

1) Do you think I really need the Canon XHA1 or Panny GH13 is enough for my needs (short movies and “very good quality” trip recordings) ?

2) Panny GH1 is extremely difficult to operate handheld. So, I need a tripod with good fluid head. I'm looking at Vinten Vision Blue (first option), Sachtler Cine DSLR and Sachtler Ace. I read a lot about all three but I don't have it clear... I'd like something lightweight but (if possible) versatile if I have to record in windy situations. Which one do you recommend and why?

Thanks in advance!

Yes, I know. So if I finally sell it, I'm going to buy one field recorder to film short movies. In my trips I don't care very much about audio quality.

Any thoughts about tripods (question 2)?

It's always a good idea to have a camera that doesn't need a bunch of accessories to use. If it were me, I would keep it. You never know when you may want to do some event work with two cams. Plus their not bringing in to much money, maybe half of what it cost new.

You're right "bringing not much money", but if I wait for more time I think it's going to bring much less. And additionally, the use of tapes (seems) is going to an end.
