Accidentally shot my entire last scene at 60 FPS, now what?

We had a nice slo-mo scenic shot, then finished our scene off with some dramatic closeups. Unfortunately, we neglected to change the frame rate back to 24 from 60. We have the audio recorded to a seperate unit, thank God. So now what's the best way to do it? I'm going to speed it up to make it equal to 24 FPS, but I think it's now going to look too much like video. What's the recommended thing to do with footage issues like this? Anyone else accidentally done this and had to fix it?

If you do it in premiere, it's no big deal. It plays fine and oddly, in premiere, if you bring in a 60 clip to a 30 sequence, and want slo mo - you have to tell it to play it at half speed, whic is a bit odd. Not sure how FCP manages this mismatch?

Depends on the shutter speed as well. If you shot say 1/120 @ 60fps, I think it's going to look strobey in any movements since the motion blur will be missing.

You don't want to try to speed it up. You're going to want to do a 60p->24p conversion. JDS put up a tutorial on how to do it from the GH1, but the principles should apply to basically any NLE.

If they're dramatic closeups, those are probably the types of shots which will convert best. Panning shots convert the worst, but tripod-based closeups should convert pretty well. I doubt you'll have much to worry about.

Final Cut Pro 5 on latest Mac OSX.

What exact version of FCP 5 on what Mac? What exact version of the "latest MacOSX?"

This information is very important because it provides information on what tools you have to assist.

But detail your information.

We can't see your set up from here, and it better to state everything up front rather than play 20 questions.

This is my Macbooks details.
Mac OSX 10.5.8
Final Cut Pro 6.0

However, on a friend's computer with the latest version of Final Cut Pro, I plugged the footage into Cinema tools and told it to convert 60p to 24p. All I got was much much slower footage. I'm a little confused. I put the footage into a 60p timeline, then exported it at it's full normal settings. Then imported into Cinema Tools and tried to convert. How do I get the software to pull out extra frames so I end up with normal speed footage?
