Hi all,

I'm making a buying list for the HMC, which accesories are you using or thinking of using with your HMC? share them that way we can make a big accesories thread:thumbup:

for example, which tripod are you using? on camera light? monitor, mattebox, microphone, shouldermount, camera case, computer hardware...................

I have a Zoe zoom control for my DVX that I love, and plan on using for the HMC when I get one in a couple of months.

I also have a Sennheiser Me66 as an on camera mic... though I think I may get a Me64 module as well.

I have a roll around Pelican case (on loan to my church right now, so I don't a model number in front of me) for my DVX that I also plan on using.

And as far as sticks... Bogen 3181 with a 501 head. Not the best, but fairly darn solid.

I plan on getting a Letus35 Extreme or some similar 35mm adapter, and upgrading to Adobe CS4

Quantaray MC UV filter.
Smith-Victor Propod rated up to 22 pounds.
I ordered a Panasonic MC70 mic - Avalive screwed up so I may go with a Rode mic from anybody but Avalive. I'm also looking at wireless mics.
Smith-Victor Pro Studio 4 light kit or ambient light.
Sony headphones for camera sound monitoring.
Sony laptops and On Location for image monitoring.
SanDisk and Panasonic SD-HC 16gig cards.

On the post side:
Flash, Fireworks, Photoshop . Soundbooth and Premiere Pro.
Sony Acid for audio editing when Premiere or Soundbooth are not enough.

Hmmm. How did Avalive screw up? I'm patiently waiting for my mic, bag, and batteries. Is there something i don't know?

They shipped the camera with no problem but they failed to ship my mic which was/is listed as in stock. MC70 Panasonic.

I called their customer service and got the blow-off "I can't see my computer screen but we'll send you an e-mail when we get them in stock."
I asked why was it list as in stock [mind you this was in late August/early September when I placed my order] and if it was not in stock when did they plan on getting it...
"I don't know."

I get an e-mail for someone over there telling me about all the great deals they have so I reply back about my mic..... Nothing.

It's BS!!!!

But they can deal with my credit card company now.

Maybe it's just me they dropped the ball on. I don't know...

I do know I'll NEVER deal with them again.:)

Heh, both companies i am dealing with seem to have the same problem/story. They say that Panasonic has been slow to ship. Batteries supposedly appear this week, while the shooter's pack arrival is UNKNOWN.

and accessories :
b+h uv filter
Libec h-38 with miller solo legs (head a bit tight with cam alone, head likes to have weight on it)
zylight z50 led on cam light
DIY led light kit (led light strips that i haven't finished attaching to surfaces)
APC 1300LCD UPS backup battery (to run lights, laptop w/external drive, cam plugged in)
2 16gb pqi class 6 sdhc (cheap, works fine)

post: cs3, tmpge 4.0 xpress (god, i hope cs4 fixes my frustration at editing, i detest vegas pro...)

Blow Off ? Excuse me but no one has been blown off . Panasonic has been SLOOOOW to ship the accessories after much back and forth. and we have been as clear as can be about this. Real easy to jab people behind forum doors

1) WE have 10 VW-VBG6PP-K batteries in stock and ll back orders are filled

http://www.avalive.com/search.php?searchVendor=Vendor&searchName=Name&searchModelNo=VW-VBG6

2) We are patiently waiting for the shooter kit components as are ALL dealers.

If any current customer who ordered a shooters kit is in a jam we will make what ever key part you need happen as best as possible.

Avalive had a super sweet deal on the shooters kit. almost 400 less than the same from BH. They shipped my cam for free and all that jazz too. I dont think anyone has the kit in right now, so its not really their fault. I do so wish I had that extra battery though. Doing an entire wedding with just one battery is completely out of the question.

If you need the battery we can get it to you.. Email customerservice@avaive.com

My opinion is that your most important accessory is your tripod, so buy the best you can afford and more. I purchased a Sachtler when I got my betacam in 1999 and that tripod still works great and will continue for many years to come.

Hi all, Thanks for the replies,
My next purchase will be a case for the camera, as I don't feel like lugging with the bare camera around....... I was looking for a pelican or storm case that would hold the camera, rode ntg2 mic, two batteries and charger, usb cable, two cards a spare hole for other things. Which would you recommend?

Next the tripod will come (I have a crappy one that I can live with until I get a new one) but I think I'll have to stick to the manfrotto 503 head..... how does it perform with this camera (bare with ntg2 mic)? Is the libec35 better than the manfrottoo 503?

I think if you have a light and the mic atop your cam and the Libec38, you'd be in heaven (my legs are light, so with just the cam alone, i inadvertently move the entire tripod instead of panning if i'm too excited). I like my H38 action alot more than the 503 when a HVX200 is on top.
