AC160 AC160 Problem

I shot some video with a PNY 64G card and the card was formatted on a Panasonic AG-AC160 camera, but the card can only be read in the camera and I'm unable to get it to transfer to a PC. I understand you can copy between cards on the camera so I'm trying to see if I can copy the video to another card that can be read and then transfer the files off. I can't find the procedure in the operating manual however.

I haven't run into this problem before so I'm not sure why it was a problem in the first place. I have a copy of Premier and the AVCCAM viewer and neither can read the card. USB 2.0 connects but cannot read the data. The card(s) (I actually have two) are in write protect mode now because I can't afford to lose what I shot. It plays back fine on the camera so I'm trying to determine the best way to get the video off the cards.

Does anyone know how to solve this dilemma and also how to copy between card slots on the camera?

Thanks

I don't know what problems you're running into; I mean, that's odd... I take cards straight from the camera, stick 'em in the computer, and copy the files off. That's the way it's meant to work.

Perhaps theres some conflict with your card reader? Try using the camera as a card reader by using a USB cable. It should work.

Copying files from one card to the other is done from the playback mode.

Does the operating system of the PC recognize the PNY cards? Does the card show up as an external device, as it should, when your PNY card is inserted in your card reader?
I've had problems with the PNY brand thumb drives not being recognized/working in my 2010 iMac. Although I've never used the PNY brand SD card with my AG90 (I use Lexar), I have not had any success with using the PNY brand thumb drives in my iMac. The PNY thumb drive is recognized in my PC (Windows 7), but my iMac is a differently story.

Do you have another PC that you can use that may recognize the PNY card? Unfortunately my post doesn't help you with your issue, and I hope there is a corrective solution to your problem.

Had the same problem in my imac and PC, my new MacPro Retina+ does not have the problem.

Three things to check in older machines;
1. 64G USB driver for PC has to be updated to accept 64G (install windows driver)
2. Most old USB 2 readers cannot read the 64G (bought a new USB 2 reader HC/XC)
3. In Imac the whole OS must be later than 10.6 (updated the OS to 10.6 and above)
