I just wanted to pass on this info. VSA just did a huge buy-in of the AC130 (not sure about the 160 or 250) and they cut there prices.

I will be getting one next week (AC130). I paid $3395. I will let you know if they have the new date stamp location once I get it.

VSA info:
They are an authorized Panasonic dealer.
Call VSA at 1800-888-2140

Their website is at: www.vsa1.com, but it is horrible.

The auto-focus is the only thing that I wish was better. The rest of the camera is great!

I am about to go with AC130 or AC160. I don't film overseas and I don't precisely need over/under cranking, I might be interested in the audio in on the AC160, BUT I wonder about the 1080 60p that apparently is going to be available on the AC160 but not on the AC130? I mostly film music groups, solo, small, concerts with up to 100 singer, usually from the back of the concert hall. The 22x zoom is a big attraction for me. Suggestion?

I was going to do the same thing getting the AC130, but then with the 1080 60P coming soon. I decieded on the AC160, plus a Samauri so I can recored in 4:2:2 , plus the uncompressed audio is what I need for the musicals and stage productions I do. In the long run the Ac160 will be easier to sell because of the 50 to 59 format. I am getting mine from Full Compass for $4314. I know you can get it from B&H Photo for $4195, but I went into my local store Full Compass and they spent over 1 1/2 with me going over the AC130, AC160, AF100, HPX250 and FS100. I was going to get the AF100, but after really hodling it and try the lens and tripod I came to the conclusion it wouldnt work for what I do. So I went into detail with the AC130 and Ac160, another rep came that was able to answer all my tech questions exactly. So thats when I decieded on the AC160, its well worth the extra few dollars. Hope this helps from my view point.

AC160 or AC130

AC160 or AC130

For "me" the added cost for the AC160 over the AC130 was not worth it. The AC160 has some great features but for "me" I can get by with the AC130 just fine. I also did not want to spend much more then $3000 because I wanted 2 of them.

Either way you go you will be fine.
