AC90: AC-90 + Used HMC-150

Hello,
I'm looking at possibly buying an HMC150 to pair with my AC90. The HMC150 interests me because it can capture the time-date stamp info in case I ever want to do any legal deposition work. But I also was wondring how the HMC150 & AC90 pair up for video shoots at weddings and other events. Other than the HMC150 not being able to shoot 1080 60P and the low light performance of the HMC150, what other issues may there be in pairing these two cameras?

Anyone care to comment regarding my question? Plenty of views of my post, but no responses. :undecided Any opinions are welcome!

I would say you'll have an easier time matching an AC130A to an AC90, than you will matching an HMC150 to an AC90. You can get the color pretty close between the 150 and 90, but the overall texture and feel of the video is just going to be noticeably different, the AC90 will be sharper and "smoother", whereas the HMC150 will be grittier and softer. The AC130 should make a perfect match. Then again, the AC130's more expensive and much bigger, so it may not suit your needs; I'm just saying it would be easier to intercut them in a multicamera shoot.

Thank you very much Barry. Unfortunately, the AC130 is too expensive for me to purchase at this time. I was hoping that pairing these two cameras would provide somewhat similar results.

They will be similar, certainly... just not quite as similar as the AC130 would give, since the AC90 and AC130 are both full-raster CMOS chips from a comparable generation of technology. So those two would match better. But you could still get the color very close between a 150 and a 90, I'm sure.

Thank you Barry for the knowledge. I was intrigued by a good price for a 150 (and I assume that more 150s be selling as used more often soon), and was wondering how it would do paired with the AC90. I'm going to have to take a trip to a camera shop that sells both models and shoot some footage.

Both cameras were shot in 30p with Cinegamma D, cinematrix, preset wb 5600k. Both were manual focused, manual iris, and manual shutter speed. The other scene file settings I tried to match as closely as possible.

Thanks again dkamisat for your assistance!
