AC160 AC-160 SDI Out is 8-bit or 10-bit ?

I still haven't seen any technical info that specifies if the SDI out on the AC-160 camera is 8-bit or 10-bit. Anyone know for sure?

The reason I ask is that Sony's comparable camera ( NX5 ) records 8-bit AVCHD internally, but also features 10-bit SDI out when using an external recorder.
 
I think it's been stated elsewhere that the AC160 SDI out is 8-bit (effective) in a 10 bit wrapper. Same as the AF100.

I've read comments that state this, but not from people who have actually tested the camera, and I can't find any Panasonic literature that explicitly states this.

Update: OK, if Barry says it's 8-bit, then it's 8-bit.
