About to take the plunge. Which memory card/other accessories?

Ok so I'm thinking about buying a t2i as a b-cam to accompany my HPX170. The price is just irresistable right now. Is there a new upgraded t2i coming out sometime soon or did the price drop because of the 60D? I think I'm getting the t2i and the 50mm 1.8 to start out, I'm assuming handheld with the 50mm is pretty bad based on vimeo videos, but I have seen some decent footage handheld. I have a good half decent tripod, but some shots I like to film handheld and no VC scares me.

ANother question. I'm looking at the transcend SD cards. The 16GB class 6 and the 16GB class 10 are pretty much the EXACT same price on B&H. Why? I'm concerned why the class 10 would be the same price. Can anyone recommend one way or another?

Also, how long does the stock battery last? I'll probably buy a grip later on,but I'm still curious.

cant tell u much about the cards cuz i use CF cards for the 7d but 50mm without IS is perfectly doable. I do it all the time...infact i can do 100mm handheld without IS. trick is to have a counter balanced shoulder mount. And no...theres no updated t2i for now.
