About to buy a dvx100B

Hey,

I'm about to buy a used dvx100b.
I have got a sony vx1000 that was laying around here for the last 2 years doing nothing and I want to get back into filming, but with a better setup.
I used to film strictly skateboarding, but I want to start to make other films.:)

Anyway, I have been checking out the web for some dvx'es and have come across that I checked out today. He originally wanted € 1250 for it, but he wants to let it go for € 1000 and it comes with this external mic; http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/330655-REG/Sony_ECMNV1_ECM_NV1_Directional_Microphone_for.html

It comes from a film student and has already 397 hours, which is quite a lot I believe..Also the lcd screen has been programmed that the image doesn't flip when you move the screen for when you attach adapters and such...

What do you think?

Thanks!

A 397-hour head count isn't terrible, but there are so many out there with much less on the heads for about the same price. I'd also be wary of a camera that has been hacked for the image flip.

As for the included mic... pretty much worthless for anything other than reference audio.

Please keep in mind that I am from Belgium and it's quite hard to find them over here.
I have come across a few other dvx'es; but one guy absolutely wants 1600€ for it and that's just a dvx100a..Then i have found another one with about 200 hours that has been serviced by Panasonic but with a broken firewire...

So I believe this dvx is the best deal for me..
Do you guys think it's a bad choice to buy a dvx? Should I follow the HD hype?

My plan is to start filming again with the dvx and train myself a bit, build up a little portfolio, and then open up a small business next to my daytime job to film weddings and commercials and such.
If I would open up a small business I could buy a new HD cam for commercial purposes (and still keep the dvx aside) and buy it on the company's name with tax reduction.

Thanks!

Help me out here guys! I'm kind of lost! Should I just keep my sony vx-1000 and wait a while and buy a HD cam immediately?
I'm totally lost right now...I have been checking out canon t2i footage wich looks even better than dvx footage and is cheaper to buy new than a dvx 2nd hand...
