im not trying to sound harsh or overly critical. But to my eye's and on my monitor, most of the shots look soft, some alomst look as if it's double exposed. Kind of like an identical image several mm from the original. Could it be from the film look effects?

It was a test in Vegas.

It looks blurry because the layer is duplicated and the frame is zoomed in by a small amount, to mimic the look of a bad lens, to give more of a "drugged" feel to it... The guy in the trunk was out of it.

It has no story because it was a single scene from a longer piece. Just presenting it as a style in editing and look.

To do the film effect you can grab a projection of some exposed film (white background on picture) and overlay it. Then you can choose Multiply from the Compositing menu button.

Thanks for watching! And all of the feedback is helpful.

oh yeah vegas has some cool effects I have been trying to do something like that in Final Cut Pro.

the second look is better. but to be honest, the whole thing looks too "plug-iny" to me...

hah! Its actually not a plugin though.

Its just levels and color corrector to get it that color.

The CC'd layer is on top of the original and the opacity is adjusted to where I like it.

The top layer is 16mm film footage, overlayed.

But I think I know what you're saying. Cliche' perhaps? In terms of the "magic bullet effect"?

yeah. i dont think the damaged film artifacts are really "integrated". it just looks like its layered on top of the video

:embarasse my bad...didnt finish watching the clip

btw, I like it. agree with others, crossed the 180 which some may not notice, but most folks on here will.
The effect for me is almost a distraction. I dont dislike it, but I dont love it.

keep it up!
