Aaton Super16 lens to m4/3 adaptor

Hello,

I have recently picked up two Zeiss plannar the have the Aaton Super16 mounts
on them.

Does anyone know how to adapt then for my GH1 ?
Or can direct me to someone with experience with this.

here are my lenses:

Super16 will not cover the GH1's sensor in wide-angle, but those two particular lenses you have probably will cover just fine.

I don't know of an Aaton to m4/3 adapter, although if you find one I'd love to know.

If there's a c-mount to Aaton adapter (to allow using Aaton lenses on c-mount cameras), then that'd be a way to go; get an m43 c-mount adapter, and then a c-Aaton adapter...

Get out the JB Weld! :-D
Seriously though, I think the Aaton flange distance is 40mm, so an adapter should be easily possible. If you really do want to dedicate those lenses to m4/3, then you should be able to get something like a gh1-m39 screwmount adapter or some other adapter with a flange distance less than 40mm and then get an lens mount from a junker lens or something like that and JB weld it to your lens (at the proper position of course) and then use it on the adapter.
This is what I did with some Canon 2/3" video lenses that I have - I put a Nikon mount on them and then put them on my Nikon-m4/3 adapter.

Good luck and have fun.

I guess this really screws up the back focus on zoom lenses?

Those are actually full frame 35mm SLR Contax/Yashica mount lenses with an easy aaton mount modification, it was really popular to do this as the cy lenses were cheap (compared movie primes) and the aaton focal flange distance made it an easy conversion.

Id say just take off the aaton mount and re-install a new cy mount, or any lens mount if you want.

Hunter Richard, you are awesome !

Thank you sooooo much for:
1) for not letting this question/thread ,get totally lost in (JB weild and Superglue)
2) I have not received the lenses, But You have confirmed my suspicions,
I actually went off the deep end in an auction on ebay for these,
Although they were advertised as "Aaton Arri Zeiss Super Speed Mark II"-Super 16
Lenses, it was quit obvious THEY WERE NOT, No Focus Gears, f1.4 (would not be a MII)
and way off to the side of the picture was a Contax lens cap (almost not readable.)

anyway you made my day

No problem Sir, hope you didnt pay too much for them (although they are very nice lenses).

Again, thank you guys so much !

That all being said , I'm having trouble finding parts (mounts/direction/resources) and a local Lens masters.
I'm in Dana Point, CA........

Can anyone point me in the right direction :)
