I'm going to buy a new camera and I'm shooting
50% 25p in 4K
50% 50p in 1080p
I want the 50p footage to look as good as possible.
Would you go for the A7RII or A7SII? (or any other camera)
Note that I have only FF lenses that I would like to keep.
Yet, 1080p60 at FF on the a7S is pretty bad, I always went to APS-C for that. It would be nice if somebody with the a7S II and/or a7R II tested this...
I second that - i will test it this weekend with s-log2/sgamut3cine and cine4/sgamut3cine and post results in this thread. I can already however that the 120fps is absolutely usable(unlike the a7s where it was horrible)
Which profiles?A7sII 1080P120 is horrible at 6400 ISO and above

Does this improve with a speed booster?
What does the A7SII output on the HDMI port?
60p? 120p?
Did some testing this weekend which i can't post unfortunately - but i can tell you that APS-C is still better, but FF 60FPS is definitely a lot better then it used to be. I considered it unusable on the a7s - now im comfortable using it. The crazy Moire/aliasing has reduced a lot. APS-C remains a bit sharper however.Yet, 1080p60 at FF on the a7S is pretty bad, I always went to APS-C for that. It would be nice if somebody with the a7S II and/or a7R II tested this...
